I Approved My Husband’s Wedding Leave to Marry His Assistant Chapter 03

Michael froze for a second, then waved me off impatiently.

“Talk about what? I’m talking to you right now, aren’t I?”

“I have a million things going on at work, and then I come home and have to wait on you. What else do you want from me?”

“Lena, don’t be ungrateful.”

I stopped speaking and just looked at him.

He paced between the living room and the bedroom.

Then he opened the closet, pulled out a few shirts and T-shirts, and tossed them onto the bed.

“I’m only going to Miami. A few outfits will be enough,” he said to himself without even turning around.

I gave a quiet hum and looked at the brand-new silver suitcase by his feet.

“Is that a new suitcase?”

“Yeah. The wheel on the old one broke.” He unzipped it and folded his clothes inside one by one. “I picked this up during a business trip.”

I stood up, walked to the bed, and picked up a white shirt he was about to pack.

“The collar on this one is a little dirty. Take another one.”

I tossed the shirt back into the closet and pulled out a clean one instead.

His hands paused. He glanced at me, said nothing, then took the shirt from me and packed it.

“Did you pack your medicine? Your stomach acts up easily,” I reminded him.

“I packed it. Go to bed early. My flight leaves first thing in the morning.”

The next morning, before the sky had fully brightened, he left with the suitcase.

I got dressed, grabbed my car keys, and followed him.

He drove at an easy pace, but he didn’t head for the airport. Instead, he drove toward the south side of the city.

In the end, his car turned into a residential complex called Rivergate Residences.

I parked by the curb and watched his car disappear into the underground garage.

Not long after, he came out through the garage elevator entrance. He was still wearing the white shirt I had picked for him, but the suitcase was gone.

The door to the apartment building opened.

A woman in a white dress came running out.

It was Claire.

So this was his real home.
