The Lazy Girl Won the Survival Show Chapter 03

The Lazy Girl Won the Survival Show Chapter 03

Before getting on the production coach, Sienna Vale had shown off several suitcases and more than a dozen storage bags on camera.

She claimed she had prepared for three months, done all her research, and could handle any wilderness emergency.

I had only carried one backpack.

The entire internet mocked me like I was going on a day trip.

Now Sienna’s face changed.

She bit her lip, her voice full of wounded innocence.

“I brought too many things. When you try to prepare for everything, it’s normal to miss something.”

Then she forced a reasonable tone.

“And starting a fire by friction is the real wilderness skill.”

“What you’re doing actually goes against the spirit of this show.”

Doubt began appearing in the live chat.

“Starting a fire by friction? Huh? Huh? Huh?”

“I saw the wilderness essentials list she posted on Instagram, and I thought something was off back then.”

“She listed a portable fan, hydrating mist, sunscreen… what use are those in the wild?”

Grant stepped in to smooth things over, his tone firm.

“Mara Quinn, since you already have a fire, give us the lighter.”

“We’re going up the mountain. It’ll be colder up there. We need it more.”

Sienna joined in, her voice soft and persuasive.

“Yeah. It’s really cold on the peak. Without fire, we might all get sick tonight.”

“You can’t just watch us freeze, right?”

The live chat suddenly became generous on their behalf.

“Exactly. Help each other a little.”

“Give the lighter to the people who need it more.”

I slipped the lighter into my pocket.

I didn’t buy the pressure at all.

“Didn’t you just say this is a competition and nobody should expect others to give way?”

“So why do you suddenly need help from me, the lazy one?”

Grant and Sienna both froze.

Grant forced himself to save face.

“It’s just a lighter. Who cares?”

Sienna lifted her chin proudly.

“Survival manuals teach friction fire-starting. It’s not like we can’t make fire ourselves.”

I didn’t waste another word.

I turned and crawled into my little tent.

The live chat was still stubborn.

“That’s right! Our Sienna learned friction fire-starting. She doesn’t need a lighter.”

“Just wait. Let’s see how Mara suffers alone at the bottom.”

Night fell fast.

The mountain wind came without warning.

Then the rain started pouring.

The spot I chose had natural cover on three sides.

I was perfectly stable.

Meanwhile, the peak was wide open with no shelter at all.

The luxury glamping tent was blown away completely.

Grant, Sienna, and the others were soaked through in the storm.

Their luggage scattered everywhere.

The live chat blew up.

“Oh my God! The wind is that strong on the peak? The tent got blown away?”

“Incredible. The lazy one picked a windproof treasure spot, while the hustle queen is being punished by the mountain.”

“What is lazy girl luck? This. This is lazy girl luck.”

Sienna and the others ran down the mountain through the rain and stopped in front of my tent.

Grant slapped my tent hard and ordered me like he owned the place.

“Mara Quinn! Open the tent! Let us in!”

I lay there calmly and didn’t move.

“My tent is small. How are all of you supposed to fit?”

Grant’s voice shot up.

“You’re heartless!”

“It’s pouring out here. Didn’t you see what happened to Sienna?”

“If she gets sick, can you take responsibility?”

Beside him, Sienna let out a weak cough.

The live chat started fighting too.

“That’s too cruel. It’s raining so hard, and she really won’t help?”

“Sienna Vale is freezing, and Mara can still lie there?”

“But this is a survival show, not a competition to see who can guilt-trip harder.”

I still didn’t move.

I asked, genuinely confused, “Why would I be responsible if she gets sick?”

“If you can’t keep going, you can quit with production right now.”

“The next second, you’ll be in a luxury production RV, completely dry.”

Outside the tent, everything went quiet.

Of course they wouldn’t quit.

The next morning, the sky cleared.

I crawled out of the tent feeling refreshed.

The other contestants stared at me, openly or secretly.

Worse, most of their luggage was ruined.

Some had been blown away.

Some had been soaked through.

Sienna walked toward me, forcing a smile.

“Mara, all our food is gone.”

“You probably still have some extra, right?”

Grant also came over, looking annoyed.

“Forget last night. You can lend us some food now, right?”

“We’re starving.”

I looked at them and asked slowly, “Didn’t you say before that I only brought one backpack, so I obviously didn’t bring anything useful?”

“If I brought so little, what am I supposed to share with you?”
