The Lazy Girl Won the Survival Show Chapter 02

The Lazy Girl Won the Survival Show Chapter 02

Wherever the harvester passed, the wheat fell in sheets.

Every contestant on-site, including the production crew, froze.

The livestream comments went blank for one split second.

Then they exploded.

“What? She’s driving a harvester?”

“Am I seeing this right? Mara Quinn knows how to drive that thing?”

“Where the hell did she even get it?”

My progress was frighteningly fast.

Soon, I passed Sienna Vale, who had been working for hours.

I drove the harvester around my assigned section.

Task complete.

“Mara Quinn, you cheated!”

Grant Hale was the first to react.

His face turned red with rage.

“What kind of skill is using a harvester?”

“We worked our asses off for half the day. Our hands are swollen, and you do this? That’s disrespectful to our labor.”

Sienna Vale’s eyes reddened.

She rubbed her red palms, looking hurt.

“We were all giving it everything we had, and you took a shortcut.”

“Mara Quinn, don’t you think you’re going too far?”

I lazily lifted my chin.

“The harvesters were parked by the field. The keys were hanging right there. There are several of them.”

“You can go drive one too. Who’s stopping you?”

Everyone went silent.

Not a single person moved.

The live chat started to shift.

“She’s… kind of right. The machines were there for everyone.”

“Wait. Isn’t the real question… who the hell knows how to drive a combine harvester?”

The scene fell into chaos.

Grant Hale pressured the production crew first.

“Director, this is obviously unfair!”

Sienna quickly echoed him.

“The spirit of this show is effort and perseverance. She’s breaking the rules.”

The director stared at the livestream numbers shooting up in real time.

He looked like he could barely keep from smiling.

He knew a selling point when he saw one.

So he immediately announced, “The harvester was indeed a prop arranged by production.”

“Mara Quinn made reasonable use of the available tools. Her result stands. First place.”

“According to the rules, the last-place contestant is eliminated. And first place…”

“Gets first pick of tonight’s shelter.”

That evening, the director announced the overnight options.

One was at the foot of the mountain.

A small, low tent with barely any space.

The other was on the mountain peak.

A luxury glamping tent with an open view and beautiful scenery.

I had first pick and didn’t hesitate.

“I choose the foot of the mountain.”

Grant Hale instantly laughed.

“Of course. Lazy is lazy. You can’t even be bothered to climb a few extra steps to the peak.”

“That cramped little broken tent, and you’re actually willing to sleep in it?”

Sienna also pretended to advise me kindly.

“The view from the peak is beautiful. The climb only takes about half an hour.”

“Maybe don’t be lazy at a time like this.”

I found the two of them completely ridiculous.

“What does my choice have to do with you?”

Then I looked up at the sky.

The clouds were hanging low.

The mountaintop would not be easy to stay on tonight.

They stopped talking to me and prepared to hike up.

I opened my backpack, took out a lighter, and built a fire with practiced ease.

Grant and Sienna, who were just about to leave, froze at the same time.

Grant’s eyes widened in shock.

“How do you have fire? Where did that come from?”

I said casually, “I brought a lighter.”

Then I tilted my head and looked at Sienna.

“Sienna Vale, you said you were fully prepared. You brought several huge suitcases.”

“Don’t tell me you didn’t bring a lighter.”
