The Lazy Girl Won the Survival Show Chapter 01

The Lazy Girl Won the Survival Show Chapter 01

I was known across every platform as the laziest actress alive.

Then I suddenly announced I was joining a survival reality show.

The other contestant was Sienna Vale, the industry’s most famous hustle queen.

She worked hard.

I lay down whenever possible.

She went looking for chores.

I went looking for sleep.

The internet lost its mind.

“Does she even know this is a survival competition?”

“Our Sienna spent months working out and learning wilderness skills for this show. Mara Quinn wants to compete with her? Is she trying to humiliate herself?”

“All-capable goddess Sienna Vale! Useless lazy freeloader Mara Quinn!”

Even A-list actor Grant Hale threw shade.

“Having to do this kind of show with Mara Quinn is an insult to the rest of us.”

The show had barely started when Sienna Vale stormed into the wheat field and silently cut down half an acre.

Her fans were already crying over her hard work and getting ready to drag me for being useless.

Then the camera turned toward me.

I was driving a combine harvester straight into the field.

The whole internet froze.

“Technology really is the greatest productive force!”

On the production coach, someone shoved me awake.

I opened my eyes, still half-asleep.

“We’re here?”

The director stared at me in shock.

“We’ve been here! The other contestants are almost done with their tasks!”

“No one woke you up?”

The live chat exploded.

“Oh my God. She slept the entire ride? Lazy actress branding still intact.”

“Our Sienna has already cut several rows of wheat. Her hands are red!”

I was on a competitive survival reality show.

It had eliminations.

There would only be one final winner.

Before the show even aired, I was already dragged onto the trending list.

The whole internet thought a lazy, work-dodging actress like me joining a show built around grit and effort was an insult to the audience.

But the production crew didn’t care.

Controversy was traffic.

Traffic was money.

The director looked at me and quickly explained the rules.

“The first task is timed wheat harvesting. Last place is eliminated immediately.”

He paused, looking regretful.

“But the time limit is… already more than halfway gone.”

I knew exactly what was going on.

They had deliberately not woken me.

From the beginning, they wanted me to get dragged.

The more people came to hate-watch me, the better.

I said nothing and got off the coach.

The sun was blazing.

The other contestants were all bent over, working hard in the field.

Sienna Vale, the famous hustle queen, was way ahead of everyone else.

Grant Hale saw me and looked me up and down with contempt.

“Well, finally slept enough? I thought you were planning to get eliminated on the spot.”

“Look at Sienna. She’s almost done with half an acre.”

Sienna Vale walked over with a gentle smile.

“It’s okay. Everyone has a different attitude toward work.”

“I just think we should live up to the audience’s expectations.”

I put both hands in my pockets and shot back lightly.

“You’re still talking this much?”

“Guess you’re not tired enough.”

Grant Hale scoffed.

“Acting tough won’t help. Time is almost up. Get ready to be eliminated.”

Then he turned to Sienna, admiration all over his face.

“This show is meant for people like Sienna. Prepared. Capable. Worth keeping.”

Sienna sighed softly.

“I only trained for a few months. I also practiced a lot of survival skills.”

“Maybe I’m just a little better at enduring hardship than people who didn’t prepare.”

I smiled.

“Good.”

“Then endure more.”

Sienna’s smile froze on her face.

After a long moment, she raised her voice, trying to claim the moral high ground.

“Mara Quinn, this is a competition. You can’t expect everyone to let you win.”

“You’re lazy and careless all the time. At some point, you have to pay for your own choices.”

After that, everyone went back to work.

They all treated me like I was already out.

I didn’t bother with them.

I turned and walked away.

The live chat boiled again.

“She ran? She’s just quitting?”

“Can production announce she’s eliminated already? I don’t want to see her for one more second.”

A few minutes later…

Rumble.

Rumble.

The roar of machinery came closer and closer.

Everyone in the wheat field stopped at the same time and looked up toward the sound.

And there I was.

Sitting in the driver’s seat of a combine harvester, rolling straight into the field.
