The Man I Mourned for Six Years, the Man She’s Been Living With Chapter 07

On the other side of the city, the sky glowed with streaks of orange and pink. I sat on a balcony, gazing out over the horizon.

The day I fell into the river, my blind date, Noah Caldwell, pulled me out.

When I woke up, I was in his home.

The video I had posted before jumping had blew up online. I was no longer the villain everyone

believed me to be.

I borrowed a phone from Noah and scrolled through the comments.

[Oh my god. This twist is insane. Ethan and Aria are absolutely terrible.]

[Poor Olivia. She mourned him for six years. The moment she was ready to move on, she found out the man she buried was alive, married to the woman he cheated with, and having a baby with her. My heart breaks for her.]

[Aria is beyond cruel. She already had everything, and she still had to destroy Olivia.]

Some people even messaged me to apologize. Videos of Ethan crying hysterically by the bridge were circulating online.

But now, looking at all of it, I felt nothing. I didn’t have the energy to care anymore.

Because the person I loved most, and the person who loved me most, were both

gone.

But Ethan refused to believe I was dead.

He posted a video every day, apologizing.

“Olivia, I’ve realized now that you were always the one who mattered to me.”

“Aria seduced me. I let her influence me.”

“I’ve divorced her. She lost the baby.”

“I hired the best lawyers. She’s in police custody now. She’ll pay for what she did to your mother.”

“Olivia, if you’re alive, please contact me. Give me a chance to make things right.”

In every video, Ethan’s eyes were red, he looked completely worn down.

I calmly pressed “Not interested” and “Show me less of this.”

Noah stood behind me, watching me quietly. Pain flickered in his eyes.

He wrapped a shawl around my shoulders and said gently, “Olivia, just rest for a while. I’ll take care

of everything.”

“Don’t feel obligated. Everything I do, I want to.”

“I have to go south for two weeks on business. Why don’t you come with me? Get some fresh air?”

A wave of warmth washed over me. I looked at this man who had always treated us with kindness,

pulled the shawl tighter, and gave him a grateful smile.

“Thank you, Mr. Caldwell.”

During the time Olivia had vanished, Ethan moved through life like an empty shell.

He used every resource, every contact he had. But it was as if Olivia had been erased.

He tried to fill the emptiness with work. But the moment he stopped, he would find himself scrolling through photos of their time together.

His fingers trembled as he scrolled up. It felt like something was tearing him apart inside.

For five years, Olivia had made him her whole world.

He ran to the cemetery and pulled six years of security footage. He watched as she spent countless nights leaning against his tombstone, sobbing alone in the dark.

Olivia, who was terrified of ghosts and the dark, stayed there night after night.

Ethan broke down, sobbing. He ran to her friends, her old coworkers. All he got were cold stares and harsh words. Not a single piece of information about her.

To expand his search, he threw himself into work, expanding his business relentlessly.

Every time he visited a new city, he searched for her. And every time, he came up empty.

Until a year later, he finally saw that familiar figure again.
