The Man I Mourned for Six Years, the Man She’s Been Living With Chapter 06

Ethan’s blood ran hot, then cold.

He opened the video with shaking hands. Olivia stood at the edge of the bridge, dirt on her hands. and feet. Her figure looked thin and fragile, her eyes hollow, like she’d already given up.

Every word she spoke hit him like a punch to the gut.

“My name is Olivia Hart. I’m the woman you’ve all been calling a delusional mistress, obsessed

with Ethan Whitmore.”

“Today, I’m putting everything on the line to tell the truth.”

“Ethan and I were together for five years. In the fifth year, he cheated on me with his current wife,

Aria Crane. He faked his death to marry her.”

“When I found out, Aria drove my foster mother to her death. In half an hour, all the evidence will

be posted along with this video.”

He clicked the cloud drive link. It was all there. Five years of memories. Proof of his affair. Screenshots of Aria’s taunting messages.

And the videos.

A hospital room. Aria leaning close to Olivia’s foster mother, whispering. A malicious expression

on her face.

Minutes later, the elderly woman went into cardiac arrest.

A hospital stairwell. Reporters crowding around a frantic, desperate Olivia.

She struggled and screamed. A woman slapped her and screamed that she didn’t deserve a family.

The crematorium. Olivia, her frail figure barely holding together as she handled everything alone. Her eyes were dead.

Ethan gripped his phone so hard his knuckles turned white. It creaked under the pressure.

The memory of everything he had done to Olivia in recent years came flooding back.

He had conspired to fake his death, letting her drown in guilt for six years while he built a successful career and a happy family.

He had abandoned her when she was injured and forced her to read that twisted script on camera.

He had threatened her with her foster mother’s life, and ultimately, led to the death of the only

family she had.

Ethan’s eyes reddened. He strode over to Aria, grabbed her by the collar, and slapped her across the

face.

“Aria, you’ve really outdone yourself.”

“You killed that old woman. You paid off the donor. You sent those reporters after her. You drove

her to her death.”

Aria’s head snapped to the side. Blood trickled from her lip.

She looked at him in disbelief. “You hit me, honey? I didn’t do those things. Someone is trying to

frame me, to come between us.”

Tears streamed down her face. “Don’t you remember? I’m carrying your baby. I would never do

something so terrible.”

But Ethan’s expression didn’t soften. His eyes were cold as ice.

Aria couldn’t hold back anymore. She sobbed, “Ethan, how can you look at me like that?”

“Yes, I did it all. So what?”

“We’re married, but she kept coming around. You’ve been secretly checking her profile every day. You think I didn’t know?”

She laughed hysterically. “I was just warning her to stay away from you.”

“Who knew she’d be that fragile? The second she heard that Olivia was sleeping with men to pay for her treatment, she just dropped dead.”

Ethan’s face went white. He kicked Aria hard. “Aria, you brought this on yourself.”

He grabbed her by the hair and dragged her all the way to Ravenswood Bridge. He tied a rope around her ankle and dangled her over the edge.

“Aria, if Olivia isn’t found, you can keep her company down there.”

Aria stared at the dark, bottomless water below and screamed in terror. “Ethan, you can’t do this to me! I’m your wife!”

“I’m carrying your baby! You love kids, don’t you?”

“I’m sorry! I was wrong! Please forgive me!”

But Ethan couldn’t hear her. His entire focus was on any news of Olivia.

They searched until dawn. Olivia was nowhere to be found.

The only thing they recovered was the pair of canvas sneakers she had been wearing when she jumped.

Ethan fell to his knees, clutching the shoes. His eyes were bloodshot, his whole body shaking.

Aria, numb from the cold water, groveled on the ground. “Ethan, please. I’m begging you. Just give

me one more chance.”

“I only did it because I love you so much. I lost my mind.”

Ethan’s veins bulged on his forehead. He grabbed her by the throat. “Shut up!”

“I gave you everything you wanted. Why did you still have to kill Olivia and her mother? I’ll make you pay for this!”

He kept kicking her in the stomach.

Aria screamed in agony as blood quickly soaked through her pants. She curled up, clutching her belly.

Finally, Ethan grabbed her bloody hand and forced it onto the divorce papers. “Since you can’t behave, you don’t get to be Mrs. Whitmore anymore.”

He turned to his assistant. “Send all the evidence to the police. Hire the best lawyer.”

The assistant nodded quickly, then cautiously asked, “Mr. Whitmore, about Ms. Hart’s remains… should we…”

“Remains?” Ethan’s brow furrowed. He clutched the sneaker tighter.

“We didn’t find a body. She’s not dead.”

“Expand the search. Find her. Bring her back to me.”
