Claimed By My Cheating Mate’s Rival Alpha Chapter 11

MASON

By the time Celeste arrived, Logan had already tried messaging Scarlett from his own phone and gotten the same wall. The blocking had spread. She was thorough, I’d give her that.

Logan thought the whole thing was ridiculous. While I was on the verge if losing my mind.

“She really blocked you, damn.” He leaned across the booth, and took a sip of his drink. “Is Scarlett actually done with you? What did you do to get her this mad?”

“Mind your business,” I said.

He sat back, not remotely offended. “I’m just genuinely

concerned.”

Celeste slid into the booth in a backless halter dress. She had this habit of making herself small in some settings – waiting to see which way the wind blew before she moved. I never found it charming. Scarlett wasn’t that

wag.

I didn’t particularly want Celeste here. I just wanted to use her to get Scarlett’s attention. I held Celeste and told Logan to take good pictures of us. When I looked at the photos, I nodded at him.

“Post it, with a very good caption.”

Logan’s grin spread. He typed a caption I didn’t read and hit share.

Twenty minutes later, there was still no proof that Scarlett had seen the photos. If she did, then she was doing a great deal at pretending she didn’t.

Marcus; my friend, walked towards us grinned, clearly enjoying the drama. “Y’know, Celeste really likes you. You called her here just to take a photo? Or is there something actually going on between you two?”

Celeste’s cheeks turned pink. She snuck a glance at me, batting her eyelashes.

Having no interest in anything anymore. I irritably loosened my tie, stood up, and grabbed my jacket to leave. “I’m done drinking. This is boring. You guys have

fun.”

Celeste jumped up to follow me. She wrapped her hands around my arm. “Wait, my phone died. Can you give me a ride home? Please?”

“Ooh!” Marcus whooped, and the other guys joined in with jeers.

Everyone in the booth, even those who hadn’t been paying attention, turned to stare.

I felt my face heat up as humiliation prickled at my skin. Was Celeste trying to out us to everyone one in our pack?

If anyone knew something was going on between us, that would make things even more complicated for me. And that means I wouldn’t be able to get Scarlett back.

I shot a glare at Celeste. “Do I look like your driver?”

Celeste froze. Her eyes watered, and she stared at her shoes. “No, of course not. I’m sorry, I just overstepped. I’ll… I’ll walk back.”

Marcus made a sound low in his throat. “Her phone’s

dead, man. If you won’t take her, I will.” The way he said it wasn’t an offer.

I knew Marcus well enough to know that he wasn’t just helping Celeste. He was a player, and would take every chance he got to make a move at a pretty woman.

Celeste shivered and stepped behind Mason, her voice small. “Mason…”

I frowned. I didn’t really like Celeste that much, but I couldn’t let Marcus take advantage of her. Regardless of whether I wanted Scarlett back or not, Celeste was mine. And I wouldn’t let anyone share what was mine.

I turned to Marcus. “I’ll drive her home myself.”

Marcus blinked, then nodded. “Yeah, sure. Take the lady

home.”

I was about to leave when Logan grabbed my hand, stopping me in my tracks. He looked at me with a serious expression.

“For what it’s worth – Scarlett’s at that Japanese spot on Riverside Drive.

“Who said I was going to find her?” I replied curtly.

Logan raised an eyebrow but didn’t push it.

I walked away with Celeste by my side.

I’m sure Scarlett would come around. There’s no need to

chase after her.

She always chased after me instead.

SCARLETT

Maggie left in a rush of apologies some minutes after. An Alpha from another a pack had apparently confessed to a secret marriage with the Luna of his brother’s pack online, and the entire platform had detonated.

That was the perfect job for Maggie.

She was halfway out the door before I could even say goodbye properly, blowing me a kiss over her shoulder.

When she was left, it was just me, the half-eaten sashimi, and my consuming thoughts.

I tried to eat. I pushed it around for a while before accepting that my appetite was gone. But I drank a little bit more tea. When I was tired of sitting and ready to go back to my hotel, I called a ride, paid the bill, and waited outside under the streetlight with my phone in hand.

I was just checking the time when I got a notification from Logan. He was Mason’s Beta. I’d completely forgotten to block his social media.

I should’ve ignored it. Instead, my hand moved and tapped the post.

The photo showed Mason on a leather couch, a glass of wine in his hand, his white shirt unbuttoned at the collar. He looked brooding and distant. Celeste sat right beside him. She wore a backless dress, her body angled toward his, looking up at him like he was the only person in the

room.

Ethan’s caption read: Mason’s got that charm you can’t fake.

I stared at it for three seconds. Then I closed the app. Then I opened it again until my fists clenched at my sides.

I locked my phone and shoved it into my bag because I was not doing this to myself.

The ride came. I slid into the back seat and pressed my head against the cool window, watching the city slide past in streaks of yellow and white. I was fine. I was completely-

The pain came without warning, a sharp, twisting pain deep in my stomach that punched the air out of me. I curled forward, pressing my palm flat against my abdomen, but it didn’t help.

“Miss?” The driver was watching me in the rearview mirror. “You alright back there?”

“No, I don’t feel so good,” I managed to say through the pain. “Please, take me to the hospital.”

He didn’t ask twice.

Five minutes later, we arrived at the hospital and I stepped out. I was stumbling out onto the pavement, and the nausea crested before I even made it through the

entrance.

I found a trash can and threw up in it, my both hands gripping the rim.

My hair was falling in my face and my eyes were watering and I was thinking about how this was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

I took a deep and closed my eyes. When I opened them, a hand was handing out a packet of tissues in front of me.

“Ms. Blackwood.”

My blood ran cold. The voice was familiar.

“Why is it that every time we cross paths, you’re always in some kind of mess?”
