Reborn to Clear My Name Chapter 13

She interfered with the operation, deliberately provoked me, and damaged equipment. Every word she said had been recorded.

The mayor had already seen all of it.

His voice sank.

“Explain this to me.”

“Why was a rookie who didn’t even know how to use a gun at the sniper position?”

“The kidnapper was already on high alert. Why did you still give her a rifle without an anti-reflection device?”

“Why did you let her expose our position?”

“Give me a reason.”

Gianni stood there blankly, his face as white as a sheet.

The more the mayor spoke, the angrier he became.

“If not for Internal Affairs, I wouldn’t even have known that the online smear campaign against Maelle—the officer who saved lives—was also arranged by you.”

“Do you know what the consequences will be once that’s confirmed? This is going to court.”

Gianni lowered his head, unable to answer.

The mayor looked at him for a moment. His tone flattened, leaving no room for negotiation.

“Now, you will go with the investigators.”

The evidence against Gianni was ironclad, leaving almost no room for argument, and the case soon went to prosecution.

Isabelle was also prosecuted as an accomplice.

Gianni had arrested many people in his career.
