Reborn to Clear My Name Chapter 12

Isabelle, however, wasn’t afraid at all.

It was as if she had no idea who the man in front of her was. She kept talking loudly.

“So what if I threatened you?”

“Gianni knows senior people in the police department. He can contact people at headquarters directly.”

The corner of the mayor’s mouth twitched, but his eyes were cold.

“Oh? Then tell me. Who can he contact?”

“If I told you, you’d be scared to death. It’s the police department’s—”

Gianni’s face went white. He clapped a hand over her mouth and turned to the mayor with an apologetic smile.

“A misunderstanding. It’s all a misunderstanding.”

“Mr. Mayor, she just joined the unit. She has no experience. Please don’t hold it against her.”

Only then did Isabelle realize what was happening, and she quickly shut her mouth.

But in truth, from the day Gianni started protecting Isabelle, the outcome had already been sealed.

The mayor looked at him coldly and continued.

“All right, Captain Marino.”

“You say she’s a rookie. Then tell me this. Someone who just joined the unit.”

“Why was she allowed to participate in an operation at this level and enter the front line?”

Gianni opened his mouth but stood there for a long time without saying a word.

But the mayor had been holding back his anger.

His son had been injured, and he had no intention of letting this go.

He took out his phone and pulled up a video exported from a tactical helmet camera.

The footage was crystal clear.

Gianni had personally sent Isabelle into the room with the kidnapper and hostage.

He said she was there to negotiate, but the only thing she did was make the situation worse.

Even more serious was what happened when I had already locked onto the target and was about to shoot.

Gianni had actually let Isabelle run up to the roof and into my sniper position.
