On Our Wedding Day, He Married another woman—I Ruined Him Chapter 02

The next morning, my ankle was swollen to the size of a grapefruit, throbbing with blinding pain.

My phone was blowing up. The wedding planner was hounding me for the final payment, and the hotel manager was demanding the bar tab.

In the family group chat, notifications kept stacking up. Dozens of messages wishing us a “happy marriage” and “beautiful babies.”

Every single text felt like a slap to my face.

I gathered the thick stack of invoices and drove straight to Ethan’s corporate office.

Before I even reached his executive suite, Lily’s high-pitched whines drifted through the door.

“Ethan, that penthouse smells like another woman. I refuse to live there.”

Ethan’s voice was dripping with indulgence.

“Alright, alright. I’ll have her clear her things out today. From now on, that place belongs to you alone.”

The blood in my veins turned to ice. I kicked the door open.

Lily was sitting at his desk, wearing my favorite silk robe. On her finger gleamed the custom-cut diamond ring I had only taken off right before the reception.

Seeing me, she gasped like a startled deer, instantly shrinking behind Ethan’s back.

“Audrey… please don’t be mad,” she whimpered, her eyes watering on cue. “I… I’m not here to break up your home. I just want to be a part of this family.”

Ethan’s brows furrowed as he stepped squarely in front of her.

“Audrey, don’t terrorize her. She just graduated. She scares easily.”

I kept my voice deadly cold as I looked past him.

“I paid for half of that penthouse in cash, Ethan.”

Ethan’s face darkened instantly.

He raised his voice, ensuring every single employee in the open-plan office outside could hear him.

“Audrey! The wedding just ended, and you’re already nickel-and-diming me? I knew I was right not to sign those papers with you!”

The entire floor went dead silent.

Every gaze throwing its weight toward me turned mocking, judgmental, and hungry for drama.

Lily bit her lip, letting a tear fall perfectly.

“Ethan, don’t yell at Audrey because of me. It’s all my fault. I’ll pack my bags. I never wanted to ruin what you two had…”

Ethan’s heart practically broke for her. He turned back to me, his tone barking a direct command.

“Go back to the penthouse right now, pack your clothes, and clear out the master bedroom!”

My body shook with pure rage as I spun on my heel to leave.

“Wait,” he called out behind me.

“Take Lily with you this afternoon to cancel the wedding dress rental. Your name is on the contract, so you need to process the deposit refund.”

When we walked into the luxury bridal salon, the receptionist recognized me immediately, beaming with professional warmth.

“Mrs. Vance! Welcome back!”

Lily’s smile vanished instantly.

She slammed her bright red marriage certificate onto the marble counter with a heavy thud.

“Get your eyes checked,” Lily spat. “I am Mrs. Vance.”

The receptionist’s smile froze as she stumbled through a flurry of embarrassed apologies.

I stood to the side, feeling like a stripped exhibit in a freak show.

But Lily wasn’t done. She walked over to the rack and grabbed a custom-tailored resort dress I had designed for my honeymoon. She tried it on, spinning in front of the mirror before turning to Ethan.

“Ethan, do you like it?”

Ethan looked at her, his eyes zoning out for a brief second.

“It’s beautiful,” he murmured. “You look just like Audrey did when she was younger.”

My ankle was throbbing so violently I could barely stand, but Ethan merely shoved all of Lily’s shopping bags into my arms.

“Lily’s wrists are delicate; she can’t handle heavy lifting. Your hands are rough anyway—carry these.”

On the drive back, a dull, heavy ache blossomed in my lower abdomen. The hard edges of the pregnancy test pressed against my ribs through my purse.

Making an excuse, I left them and slipped into a private clinic for a blood draw to confirm the pregnancy.

The doctor reviewed my charts, his expression grim.

“You have severe scar tissue from an old trauma, and your uterine lining is dangerously thin,” he warned. “This pregnancy is a medical miracle, but it’s incredibly fragile. You need absolute bed rest. No stress. No excitement whatsoever.”

Holding the lab results, I stepped out of the hospital clinic.

My phone screen lit up with a notification. Lily had just updated her Instagram.

The photo showed her fingers laced with Ethan’s, my diamond ring glistening on her hand.

The caption read: [The right woman never has to fight for a place. A real man gives her his name without being asked.]
