He Played Poor for 99 Rounds, I Won on the Last One Chapter 06

Fear spread through the room.

People started talking over each other, scrambling to explain.

“Mr. Thorne, we didn’t mean it. Dorian and Vanessa were the ones who pushed this. We were

misled.”

“Yes, it was her. She said if we helped deal with Mrs. Thorne, she’d introduce us to you.”

“We’ll apologize. Please, just let us go.”

In the end, every bit of blame landed on Vanessa.

Alaric looked at her, his voice calm but heavy.

“You’ll pay for this. A hundred times over.”

Vanessa’s legs gave out. She collapsed to the floor shaking.

“Dorian… help me…” she whispered.

Dorian didn’t move.

He had already received the report from his assistant. Everything was laid out-her past relationships, the wealthy men, the timing, the calculated approach after she learned his background.

Every detail pointed to one thing.

She had been after his status from the beginning.

Something in his expression snapped.

He stepped forward and slapped her hard across the face.

“We’re done,” he said coldly. “From this moment on you mean nothing to me. Don’t ever show up in front of me again.”

Vanessa went pale.

She knew exactly what was coming for her. Panic took over, and she turned to Alaric instead, her voice desperate.

“Mr. Thorne, if you let me off, I’ll do anything. Anything you want.”

Her tone dropped, suggestive, shameless.

“I can make it worth your while.”

The implication was obvious.

Disgust flickered across the room. Even Dorian’s expression darkened further.

Alaric’s gaze didn’t change.

“Anything?” he repeated.

Vanessa’s eyes lit up immediately.

“Yes. Anything.”

“Then start with this,” he said flatly. “Get on your knees and apologize to my wife. A hundred times.”

Her face froze.

“No. I’m not doing that!”

Humiliation and resentment twisted together as she glared at me.

“Celia, why does everything go your way?” she snapped. “Why are you the Viremont heiress? Why do you get to marry someone like him?”

Her voice broke, turning sharp and bitter.

“Just because you were born lucky? That’s not fair.

I looked at her, my tone steady.

“Fair?”

“You didn’t care about fairness when you were calling me a nanny and having people beat me.”

My gaze didn’t waver.

“You’re not upset about fairness. You’re upset because you’re not the one on top.”

Her face went rigid.

“This is exactly where greed gets you.”

Then the police arrived.

“Who reported a child abduction?”

I pointed straight at Vanessa.

“She did. There was no kidnapping, but I’m filing charges for assault and attempted theft. There are witnesses and surveillance footage.”

The people around us jumped at the chance to fix their mistake.

“She’s telling the truth.”

“We saw everything.”

“She took the bracelet-she started it.”

Vanessa’s composure finally shattered.

“I didn’t steal anything!” she screamed.

I took the bracelet back from her hand and held it up.

“Each diamond is worth over a hundred million,” I said calmly. “Vanessa, you’re looking at a very

long sentence.”

Her face drained of all color.

Desperate, she dropped to her knees in front of Alaric, words tumbling out without thought.

“Mr. Thorne, please-Celia and Dorian were together for four years. They still have feelings. She’s

not right for you.”

Her voice grew frantic.

“Let me stay with you. I’ll be loyal. I’ll treat you better than anyone.”

Alaric didn’t even look at her.

He kicked her aside without hesitation.

The officers moved in quickly. With the surveillance footage and multiple witnesses, everyone who

had laid a hand on me was taken away.

Vanessa struggled, screaming, but it didn’t matter.

Two officers forced her down and dragged her out of the venue.
