Life Reset Don’t Love Me With Your Betrayal, Don Chapter 03

“Who is it?”

Sophia opened the door, confusion on her face. The moment she saw me, every expression froze in place.

Her breath hitched.

“O-Olivia…”

I pushed past her and walked inside. I came face to face with Ethan, who had just stepped out of the bathroom.

The towel slipped right out of his hands and clanged on the floor.

Disbelief flooded his eyes.

I glanced around the room. Ethan’s personal belongings were scattered everywhere. Photos of him and Sophia lined the countertop, and the Walker Family emblem hung on the wall— a symbol only true family members were allowed to display.

We stood across the living room from one another. I forced a bitter smile, my hands and feet ice cold.

“You swore you never kept secrets from me. What is all of this then?”

Ethan snapped out of his shock. His face drained of color instantly, and he rushed forward to grab my shoulders.

“Olivia, listen to me. It’s not what you think!”

Standing so close, the faint scent of Sophia clung to his body, gnawing at my frayed nerves.

“Let go of me!”

I pulled free. A sharp slap echoed through the room. Ethan’s head snapped to the side, a red mark blooming on his cheek right away.

Sophia lunged forward and shoved me hard.

“Have you lost your mind? How could you hit him?”

I stumbled backward from the force of her push. Ethan hurried to shield me, then roared at Sophia.

“Go upstairs now. You have no right to touch her!”

Sophia stared at him in shock, then let out a bitter laugh.

“She knows everything now. Do you really think you two can go back to how things were? Ethan, I’m the one who truly loves you!”

His expression turned dark and menacing.

“I said go upstairs. Don’t make me tell you a third time.”

Sophia refused to move. It looked as if she had been waiting for this moment to come.

“Olivia, I’m pregnant with his child!”

Ethan’s pupils shrank. He shot her a fierce warning glare.

“Sophia! Shut your mouth!”

I looked straight at him, my gaze filled with mockery.

“What are you so afraid of? Let her talk. I want to hear every secret you’ve hidden from me.”

“Olivia…” Sophia let out a mocking laugh, her voice thick with tears and pride.

“The night after your graduation, he told you he was heading to Chicago to work with his mentor. He spent the entire night here with me instead.”

“Sophia!” Ethan shouted in anger.

She ignored him and kept speaking.

“I planned every detail for your wedding venue a few days ago. Every word he said to you was written by me. He just memorized it and repeated it. And this isn’t his first child with me. There were two others before this one, and he chose to get rid of both.”

My face paled inch by inch as her words sank in.

The truth was far crueler than I had ever imagined.

I gasped for air, my breathing ragged. Then my vision blurred, and I collapsed to the floor.

I had a heart condition that I’d had surgery for as a child. It had never flared up over the years, but the stress brought it on now. Panic washed over Ethan. He forgot everything else and rushed to take me to the hospital.

When I woke up, night had fallen completely.

Ethan sat beside my hospital bed, his head resting in his hands. He looked utterly defeated. He jumped to his feet the second he saw my eyes open, worry etched deep on his face.

“You’re awake. Do you feel any pain anywhere?”

I stared at him silently, no emotion on my face. After a long pause, he leaned down to look at me. His tone was the same stern voice the Don used to discipline disobedient underlings.

“Olivia, I did all of this for your own good. You can’t have children. Why adopt a stranger’s kid when you can raise mine? Be reasonable. I did this for the family.”

I could not believe what I was hearing.

My pain, a lifetime of being fooled and hurt, meant absolutely nothing to him. He even believed he was doing the right thing.

I closed my eyes, my body trembling violently.

“Get out. Leave me alone.”

Ethan pressed his lips into a tight line. He pulled the covers up around me gently, his voice calm as if delivering a family verdict.

“I’ll come check on you tomorrow. Calm yourself down and don’t get upset.”

He walked out of the room. The door had barely clicked shut when Sophia stepped inside, a malicious glint in her eyes.

“There’s one more thing you ought to know.”
