Reborn as the Romance Heroine, I Only Aim for First Place Chapter 07

This time, I started waking up at four in the morning.

I refused to believe that Evan could spend every day flirting with Chelsea instead of studying and still stay ahead of me.

Sure enough, although I still did not beat Evan on the third practice SAT, I had closed the gap to within twenty SAT points. I was only ten SAT points behind him.

By the fourth practice SAT, I was barely behind him at all.

Evan really was smart. As much of a dumbass as he was in some ways, I could admit that.

But he was busy tutoring Chelsea every day and barely had any time to study for himself.

Besides, he might be a genius, but I was not bad either.

I believed that on the next exam, I would definitely beat him.

…

A month later, the next exam arrived.

It was the regional practice SAT before the real test.

I took a deep breath and was just about to take out my admission ticket before entering the exam room when my hand suddenly froze.

The admission ticket I had put in my backpack was gone.

I had checked it that very morning.

But in just half an hour, it had disappeared.

“The exam is about to begin. Aren’t you going in?” asked the proctor, a teacher wearing glasses.

I forced myself to stay calm.

“My admission ticket is missing. Can I go in and take the exam first?”

“No,” the proctor said with a frown. “Without an admission ticket, how are we supposed to verify which test-taker you are? If everyone did that, we wouldn’t be able to run the exam at all. You need your ticket, or you can’t enter.”

I knew myself too well.

There was no way I had forgotten it.

So this could only be the plot again.

Each stage only unlocked the next stretch of plot, but I clearly remembered that I had not seen anything about an admission ticket before.

I took a deep breath and asked in my mind, “Chelsea stole my admission ticket, didn’t she?”

She was the only one who had the chance. Most likely, she had gone through my backpack while I was in the bathroom.

She was also the only one with a motive.

The System sounded guilty. “Um… yes. But don’t get angry yet. This incident will make everyone start to see Chelsea’s true colors. They’ll still plead for her afterward, but as long as you forgive her, you’ll leave

everyone with the impression that you’re kind and magnanimous.”

I was so angry I almost laughed.

“So you deliberately locked that part of the plot and kept me from seeing it.”

The System lowered its voice.

“I was afraid you’d interfere with the plot again. The storyline has already gone completely off track. I had no choice. I had to pull it back somehow.”

I closed my eyes and took several deep breaths.

At last, I said coldly, “This is the last time. If you ever lock the plot from me again, I’ll kill the primary male lead, the second male lead, and the female supporting rival, then take this cursed world down with me.”

Then I picked up my backpack and walked out.

I knew Chelsea would never let me find the ticket.

There was no way I was taking this exam.
