I Catfished a Billionaire Using My Bully’s Photo Chapter 04

The secretary looked agitated.

He shoved me aside, impatient.

I wasn’t expecting it — I stumbled, my knee slamming hard into the leg of a desk.

The pain made me gasp.

He didn’t show a flicker of remorse.

Just glanced at me, dismissive, and rushed straight to the supervisor.

“Excuse me — is there a Talia Blake here? Mr. Shaw would like to speak with her.”

Talia’s name was called.

The moment she heard it was Ethan asking for her, she practically flew over.

“I’m Talia! That’s me! What is it?”

The secretary gave her a quick once-over, his tone noticeably softening.

“The executive office is short a secretary. Mr. Shaw wants you to fill in temporarily.”

Talia froze.

Then her voice spiked, loud enough to echo through the whole office.

“Me? Mr. Shaw wants me to work for him? He told you that himself?”

The secretary’s brow twitched — a flicker of irritation, barely visible — before he nodded with a smile.

“Yes, you. Grab your things and come with me.”

Talia covered her mouth, barely containing her excitement.

She snatched up her bag.

“Secretary Davis, I barely have anything here. I can go right now.”

“Good. Follow me.”

Talia pressed her lips together, fighting a grin, and made a deliberate detour past me on her way out.

She looked down at me with that wide-eyed, innocent face.

“Evelyn, move aside, okay? Mr. Shaw wants me on the thirty-fourth floor. You’re kind of in my way. Keep working hard down here, alright? Another decade or so, who knows — maybe we’ll be desk neighbors upstairs.”

I didn’t say a word.

I just endured the throbbing ache in my knee and quietly stepped aside.

Talia click-clacked away in her sky-high heels, giddy, following the secretary out the door.

My coworkers watched her go, eyes full of envy, and the moment she was gone, they exploded.

“Whoa. This new girl — you think she’s gonna be the future Mrs. Shaw?”

“Even if she’s not, she’ll be his girlfriend for a while. The boss is so into her, he moved her right up to his floor.”

“Hey, Evelyn — you came in with her, right? Do you know what’s going on between her and the boss?”

Hearing my name, I forced down the lump rising in my throat and slowly shook my head.

My voice came out so quiet I could barely hear it myself.

“No… I don’t know.”
