After His Amnesia, I Severed Our Mate Bond Chapter 11

I didn’t see it coming. Instead of hearing from Evander, I got the news of his mate bond–to Zayla, of all wolves. The irony wasn’t lost

on me.

A few quiet days slipped by before Delilah, one of the pack’s Deltas and Evander’s cousin, reached out through the mind link.

“Luna,” she started, her voice laced with irritation, “I heard about the split. Honestly, the Alpha had it coming. Now Zayla’s clinging to him like a wolf to a fresh kill, and he can’t shake her off. His parents–your ex–in–laws–are in full matchmaker mode. They’re pushing

for him and Zayla to seal the deal and start a family ASAP to secure the pack’s bloodline. Evander caved under the pressure and just finalized the mate vow.”

“Well, they’re bound together now. Good for them,” I replied, my tone steady. His parents had been restless since we lost the pup. Honestly, they didn’t care who the Alpha’s mate was, as long as she could carry on the lineage.

“I can’t stand Zayla,” Delilah went on, her disdain clear. “She rejected the Alpha once, and I can’t figure out why he took her back. Even the former Luna–your mother–in–law–is losing patience. She’s been giving Zayla the cold shoulder, reminding her she’s just a divorced Delta and should be thankful to be accepted. They’ve even been pressuring her about why she hasn’t stepped into a pack role since her return.”

I chuckled. How could she, when she didn’t even have a legitimate rank?

“Apparently, she’s asked the Alpha to get her a spot on the pack’s council,” Delilah added.

I knew the Silver Moon Pack’s council was elite, requiring credentials Zayla clearly didn’t have. But with the Alpha’s backing, she might slip through. Still, the council had a rigorous vetting process. Surely, she wouldn’t make it, right?

Four days later, I heard Zayla had landed a council role. But the former Luna wasn’t happy, especially since Zayla had claimed to have held a high rank in her old pack, only to end up with a lowly position here.

Delilah kept me in the loop, clearly enjoying the drama.

Evander, what a joke. Days ago, he’d sworn there was nothing between him and Zayla, and now they were bonded, and he’d handed

her a council seat?

I remembered jokingly asking for a council role, only for him to snap, “You’re not skilled enough for me to recommend you.”

Evander sat on one faction of the council, while his rival held another, both gunning for the Beta role.

I wasn’t about to let Zayla off easy after she’d shattered my bond. Those responsible had to pay. I gathered evidence–proof of Zayla’s fraudulent claims—and sent it to Evander’s rival. Her rank had been temporary, not official, so her credentials wouldn’t hold up here.

There was no real proof of her status anywhere.

A week passed with no updates, and I thought Evander’s rival had let it slide. But two weeks later, I heard Zayla had been stripped of

her role.

Delilah linked me again, her laughter ringing through the mind connection.

“Can you believe it, Luna? Zayla’s rank and her so–called high status in her old pack were total lies. But since the Alpha backed her, the council skipped the thorough check. Now they’ve been reported, and after an investigation, she’s out. It’s a mess. I wonder if the Alpha will face any fallout. Poor council members, though–someone’s gonna take the blame. Luna, karma’s on your side. The former Luna’s face was priceless–green with envy, no joke. She used to praise Zayla and put you down, and now look–Zayla’s true colors are

out She even claimed she was a high–ranking warrior before! Hilarious.”

“As they say, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear,” I said, sipping my tea, savoring the moment
