I Was Pregnant When He Announced His Other Baby Chapter 02

Gregory rubbed his temples.

“It wasn’t on purpose. I went into the wrong room that night. I only learned later that she was one of your students.”

“But I don’t regret it.” The man’s eyes traced over my face.

“After all, an eighteen-year-old girl is very young and appealing.”

A loud buzzing filled my head. I looked up at the man I had loved for over a decade, unable to believe my eyes.

I lost control completely. I grabbed anything within reach and hurled it at Gregory.

I threw things until I was completely exhausted. He didn’t even try to dodge.

“Feel better now?”

He looked exasperated and tried to come over to hug me.

I grabbed the last teacup and threw it at him.

“Get out!”

The cup shattered. A shard cut my hand, and blood began to drip.

Gregory’s expression hardened. He grabbed my hand and started treating the cut, his voice calm and unhurried.

“Now that you know, I’m going to have Aubrey move in here to rest and carry the baby.”

“It’s her first time being pregnant, she doesn’t have any experience. You’ve given birth before, so you know how to take care of her.”

My head snapped up to look at him.

“What… what did you just say?”

Gregory twisted his wedding ring, then pinched my cheek with a weary sigh.

“Be good. Aubrey will be staying here soon. It’ll be a few months of taking care of her.”

“I’ve already arranged leave from your college job. It won’t affect your position.”

I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I screamed at him.

“How can you be so disgusting?”

“Expecting your wife to take care of your mistress. Gregory, are you insane?”

Gregory chuckled softly and put a finger to my lips.

“Shh, keep your voice down. There’s no need for such harsh words.”

“You don’t want anything to happen to your mother, do you? She’s in the hospital. The last thing she needs is stress.”

“Sweetheart, if you don’t behave, I can’t guarantee that someone might “accidentally” mention this to her.”

The man’s smile didn’t waver, but a cold sweat broke out on my back.

He was threatening me with my mother?

He was a nobody with nothing when I met him. The only one who agreed to me marrying him was my mother.

She was even the one who gave Gregory the seed money to start his first company.

Tears welled up in my eyes again, but this time Gregory had lost his patience.

He looked at his watch and frowned, annoyed.

“Aubrey will be here any minute. I’m giving you five minutes to think it over.”

My fists clenched and unclenched. Finally, I let them hang limp at my sides.

I nodded numbly.

The man rewarded me by kissing my forehead lightly, then went out to pick up Aubrey.

My son pushed past me as if I were in the way.

He usually acted like such a miniature adult, so seeing him lose his composure was rare. He practically skipped toward the door, excited.

I collapsed onto the floor, weak. The prenatal report was still hidden behind me, ungiven.

The front door opened again. My eyes met Aubrey’s.

Her belly was already starting to show. The look she gave me was full of barely concealed triumph.

“Hi there, Professor. Looks like I’ll be in your care now.”

I didn’t say anything. My son walked over.

“Mom, you should move out of the master bedroom and let Aubrey have it. You’re older, you can sleep anywhere.”

“Fine.”

I agreed without hesitation.

What was the point of holding onto the master bedroom when my husband and son weren’t really mine anymore?

Gregory seemed a little surprised. He probably didn’t expect me to agree so easily.

Back when I helped him build his company, I never let anyone take advantage of me, not even for a penny.

Ignoring his stare, I turned to leave.

But Gregory blocked my way. His eyes were dark and unreadable.

“No need to rush. Since you’re being so generous, you can clean the room before you leave.”

Aubrey came over and linked her arm through mine, all friendly.

“Yeah, that would be great, Professor. I want the baby to be close to you. Maybe some of your luck will rub off on me.”

“And make sure you get all the corners and edges really clean, okay, Professor?”

Her tone was sweet, but it was obvious she was treating me like a maid.

Gregory and my son didn’t react at all.

My hands clenched into fists. I turned my head and walked away.
