Cast Aside by My Mate, Crowned by the Lycan King Chapter 07

Brody was allergic to mangoes.

Three minutes later, horrifying red rashes appeared all over his hands, but he was still cluelessly shoveling mango chunks into his mouth.

Not until his body began to convulse—his limbs twitching and mouth foaming—did he finally collapse, unable to eat any more.

As he was loaded onto the ambulance, he looked toward me with weak, unfocused eyes.

“Alexis, now I’m suffering too. Just like you did. Can you… give me another chance?”

I glanced at him coldly and said nothing.

Hand in hand with Adam, I walked back to the Lycan Keep.

The last thing Brody saw before blacking out was the back of me, walking away without hesitation.

Three days later, I saw Brody again.

They said he’d been in the ICU for over 24 hours before he finally woke up.

This time, he wasn’t as aggressive as before.

Instead, he began lingering in the places I frequented, trying to stage “coincidental” encounters.

Adam was furious. He stayed glued to my side every day, never letting me out of his sight.

His normally bright blue eyes had darkened, carrying a clear warning for anyone watching.

Then one day, Adam and I attended the Alpha Ball.

He had to speak privately with another Alpha about pack business, so we split up briefly.

I sat alone at the dessert table, poking at a slice of cake in boredom, when a shadow suddenly fell over me.

I looked up and saw Brody standing right in front of me at some point.

I felt his presence brought bad vibes, so I turned to leave.

Seriously, how had I never realized how revolting Brody could be?

The contempt in my eyes cut him deeply. He hurried to call out,

“Alexis, wait! I just wanted to warn you Adam just went upstairs with some she-wolf.”

I stopped in my tracks.

My eyes instinctively darted toward where Adam had been just moments ago, but now there was only one Alpha sipping his drink alone.

Brody stepped closer, indignantly saying, “Alexis, he dares to do this right under your nose. Do you still want to be with a Lycan like that? Lycans aren’t loyal like werewolves.”

I frowned. “That’s between Adam and me. Not your business.”

My rational mind told me Adam would never do such a thing, but I couldn’t stop the irritation from creeping in.

Brody fanned the flames, then started heading upstairs to lead me.

“They’re in Room 3015. Alexis, see for yourself and you’ll know I’m not lying.”

Without realizing it, I followed him up the stairs.

It had only been a few minutes, but the walk felt agonizingly long.

What if Adam really was cheating? What would I do?

My mind was a whirlwind of confusion as I found myself standing in front of room 3015 without realizing it.

Brody looked downright gleeful as he reached to open the door.

But before he could touch it, it was yanked open from the inside.

“Get lost! Who sent you?! I’ve had a crush on for my Luna for years. Don’t you dare try to ruin that!”

The next moment, a scantily clad she-wolf was flung out into the hallway.

Adam stood behind her, his face thunderous, expression carved from ice. His clothes were still perfectly neat.

The second he saw me, his fury melted and he hurried to explain.

“Alexis,” he said quickly, “I didn’t touch her. Someone drugged my drink during the ball. I pretended to fall for it and came here to see what they were planning. Sure enough, they tried to trap me with a

strange she-wolf in the room.”

“Alexis, if you don’t believe me, you can check me yourself right now.”

He reached for his collar, about to undress to prove it.

I grabbed his hand and laughed softly. “I believe you.”

Brody’s face instantly went pale.

I turned to him with a cold, cutting smile.

“Brody, was this she-wolf sent by you? You disgust me.”

“It wasn’t me! Alexis, how can you think that of me?” Brody looked hurt.

But I was too tired to care about his explanation. Whether it was true or not didn’t matter.

Neither of us felt like staying at the ball any longer.

Adam decided to take me straight home.

Brody chased after us to the door, still trying to explain.

But just then, a ragged, disheveled she-wolf stumbled into the ballroom and threw herself into Brody’s arms.

“Brody, I’m pregnant with your child! You’re not getting rid of me!”
