They Erased Me, So I Rewrote My Life Chapter 45

She took a step closer, rainwater dripping from her chin. “You don’t deserve to be a Walton. You don’t deserve Father’s love. You don’t deserve anything you have now.”

“You’re wrong, Savannah,” I said.

She stopped.

“I’m not jealous of you.” I looked her in the eye. “I just pity you.”

The words struck her face like a slap.

“You’ve spent all these years staging scene after scene, manipulating so many people,” I continued. “But inside, you’re still empty. You’re still that same person, desperately trying to prove you deserve to be loved.”

Her lips began to tremble.

“You think you’re so noble?” she raised her voice. “You’re just a coward who ran away!”

“Yes,” I admitted. “I left a toxic environment and went to find people who truly respected me. That’s not running away. It’s protecting myself.”
