My Made‑Up Werewolf Mate Sent Me Gifts Chapter 09

My Made‑Up Werewolf Mate Sent Me Gifts Chapter 09: The Recall Night

The night of the full moon.

In The Pale, I walked toward that forest.

It was not the real-world forest, but the same place reflected by the soul.

Mara did not stop me.

She stood on the roof of the police station, watching me from far away.

Jenna did not stop me either.

She stood at the company entrance and nodded at me.

Eli shouted behind me, “Vee, live for us!”

I walked into the forest.

The moon was round and bright.

Silver moonlight spilled onto the ground like a path.

I walked to the clearing at the center of the forest.

There, I saw Logan.

Not the Logan from my dreams.

Not the Logan from the photos.

But the living Logan performing the ritual in the real world.

I saw him through the Mate Bond.

He was kneeling in the center of a circle drawn in blood.

His wrist was open, and blood flowed into the soil.

His pack, the living werewolves, formed a circle around him and chanted in low voices.

I heard him say, “Vee, if you can hear me, walk to the brightest place in the moonlight.”

In the forest of The Pale, I found that place.

Then everything changed.

The ground began to shake.

The moonlight turned sharp as blades.

I saw a door.

A door forged from light and blood opened before me.

On the other side stood Logan.

He reached out his hand.

“Come here,” he said.

I took the first step.

My foot landed on the threshold like it had stepped into flames.

I heard the voices of all the dead in The Pale.

Mara.

Jenna.

Eli.

Nonno.

Linda.

My boss.

Every coworker.

Together, they said, “Go. Don’t look back.”

I took the second step.

My body began to burn.

Not with painful fire.

With the fire of rebirth.

I took the third step.

Then I heard wolf howls.

They were not Logan’s.

They belonged to the remnants of the Darkmoon Pack.

They had come.

In the real world, five rogue wolves charged into the ritual site.

Logan could not move.

His blood was still sustaining the circle.

He had to keep the door stable and could not fight.

The pack warriors rushed forward, but the rogues were too strong.

I saw Logan’s eyes.

He was desperate.

In his heart, he shouted at me, “Vee, come through! Hurry!”

I looked at the door.

I looked at my own body, still burning.

Then I made a decision.
