The Alpha’s Rejected Luna: Crown of Thorns Chapter 07

The Alpha’s Rejected Luna: Crown of Thorns Chapter 07

I went with him. The car cut through sleeping territory, rain smearing the windows like tears that refused to fall Streetlights blurred past as we drove deeper into the night, until the iron gates of a private airstrip came into view My pulse was hammering when my phone suddenly vibrated.

Kael.

His voice burst through the line, clipped and furious.

“Where are you? Asher’s shifting ceremony is starting. You’re supposed to be here serving the guests. Get back immediately-and don’t bring the girl. She’ll only ruin the atmosphere.”

I bit down so hard my lip split, the metallic taste of blood flooding my mouth.

Then Ravenna chimed in, her tone light, sugary, cruel beneath the sweetness.

“Hurry up, Sera. You don’t want to miss everything, do you? Thank you again, darling,” she purred to Kael, “for

throwing such a perfect ceremony for our Asher.”

My chest tightened until it hurt. My fingers shook, but I held the phone firmly as Kael laughed, warm and indulgent.

“Anything for you, sweetheart. Anything for Asher-”

“Enjoy the severance, Kael,” I cut in, my voice steady and cold. “Rot in hell.”

I ended the call and flung the phone out the window. It hit the rain-soaked road and shattered, the screen flashing

once before dying completely.

The silence afterward felt heavy, almost sacred.

Then Roman let out a slow whistle, a grin spreading across his face.

“Well, damn,” he said, amused. “Looks like you finally found your fangs. Damien’s going to love this version of you

My lungs burned as I breathed, my hands still shaking-but Lily was warm in my arms, solid and real. I held her closer and turned my face away from Roman’s knowing smile.

The car rolled to a stop on the private runway. Ahead, the jet stood under harsh white lights, sleek and merciless

against the rain. My legs felt numb as Roman stepped out and opened my door

“Ready?” he murmured. “Your Alpha is waiting.”

I tightened my grip on Lily and forced myself forward. The stairs felt endless. The air inside the jet smelled like leather

and steel, sharp enough to make my knees wobble.

And then I saw him.

Damien.

More imposing than I remembered. Colder. A wolf carved from shadow and precision. His suit was dark, his gaze darker still. He didn’t rise. Didn’t move. He simply watched me with those obsidian eyes that had haunted my dreams

for eight years.

“Damien…” My voice cracked despite my effort.

One corner of his mouth shifted-not a smile. His tone was calm, cutting, absolute.

“You made it.”

Kael’s POV

Ravenna leaned close, her scent wrapping around me like silk. Her voice was gentle, coaxing.

“Don’t let Sera get under your skin tonight. She’s jealous-that’s all. If you lose your temper, she wins. Let her sulk

while I stand beside you.”

I smirked, brushing my thumb along her wrist where Asher couldn’t see.

“You always know how to calm me. She’s irrelevant. Look at you. Look at Asher. This-this is my pack.”

She lowered her lashes, smiling. “That’s right. Everyone can see it. Let her howl all she wants-she has no power.

Tonight belongs to us.”

She was right. By the time we returned to the pack house, pride filled my chest until I felt invincible. Rival Alphas feared me. Allied packs envied me. My woman adored me. My heir bore my mark.

The moment I stepped inside, I barked, “Coffee. Now.”

The omegas stiffened. I snapped my fingers impatiently.

“Where is Sera? Drag her down here. I don’t care what time it is.”

One omega finally stepped forward, bowing deeply, her voice trembling.

“Alpha… the former Luna has already left. She departed with the young pup. A man came for them.”

I stared at her, waiting for the punchline. When none came, the words hit me like a blow.

“What did you say?”

She repeated herself, barely audible.

I struck her without thinking. She crashed into the wall.

“And you let me play the fool at that ceremony while she ran off with another wolf?” I roared. “Useless trash!”

Asher gasped behind me. Ravenna quickly slipped her arm through mine, voice calm and sweet.

“Kael, not now. Asher is watching. He doesn’t need to see this.”

I turned to my son, his eyes wide and frightened. Rage burned my throat-but Ravenna was right.

“Fine,” I snapped. “Take him upstairs. Now.”

She softened at once, all warmth for the child.

“Come, sweetheart. Mama Ravenna will tuck you in.”

When they were gone, I bellowed, “Get the trackers here!”

The monitors flickered to life in my study.

There she was.

Sera-walking out of my territory gates like she owned them, Lily held securely in her arms, three massive wolves in human form flanking her like royal guards. Calm. Controlled. Fearless.

I punched the screen. Glass exploded.

“SERA!”

I rushed to the vault, laughing bitterly.

“She could never crack the code. Never. She’s weak. She’s stupid.”

But the instant the steel door swung open-

My world stopped.
