My Deranged Mafia Marriage Chapter 01

My Deranged Mafia Marriage Chapter 01

Ever since I discovered Don Lorenzo’s infidelity, I would pin him against the door every time he came home, strip his trousers, and spray his crotch with high-concentration alcohol.

Lorenzo admitted his guilt; his eyes would turn bloodshot as he endured it all, tenderly begging me to stop—yet he still let me do it.

But tonight, he was two hours late getting back.

The moment I caught the scent of perfume on him, I lost control again, clawing at his belt like a madwoman.

“The last time you were thirty minutes late, you slept with a woman!”

“You’re two hours late tonight—tell me! Did you go and bed four of them?!”

After I pushed him for the thirtieth time, he finally raised his hand, his knuckles bruised from an IV drip and screamed at me, his voice hoarse.

“Enough! I’m burning up with a fever, I’m dying, and not once did you ask about me. When are you going to stop this madness?”

“I slept with someone else once because I was wasted. Like you’re some kind of saint?”

“No wonder you were dragged into that alley when you were sixteen and stripped bare by those bastards. Sonia, you’re a paranoid, hysterical bitch—you deserved it.”

The spray bottle shattered at my feet. The sting of the alcohol fumes made my throat tighten.

Looking at the disgust in his eyes, something deep inside me suddenly… cleared.

Fine. This broken, pathetic relationship of ours?

I didn’t want to keep it on life support anymore.

Silence filled the entryway.

The car door wasn’t fully closed. The two associates who had escorted Lorenzo home froze behind him, forced smiles on their faces as they tried to settle the air.

“Sonia, don’t. Lorenzo was shaking with rage; he didn’t mean it.”

“Seriously? You spray him with alcohol every single day—no man could take that. Just let it go.”

“Yeah. That one time he got drunk… he completely blacked out. It’s over and done with.”

At the mere mention of that night, my stomach turned in knots.

When I was sixteen, my stepbrother and his crew dragged me into a dark alley.

I was sixteen. My shirt was torn to shreds. I was sixteen.

Then, eighteen-year-old Lorenzo came charging at them with a brick, eyes burning with fury. As I shook with terror, he threw his jacket over me. He held me and cried even harder than I did.

He said, “Sonia, don’t be afraid. Anyone who dares touch you is a dead man.”

Because of that night, I trembled every time we were intimate.

But back then, Lorenzo would just hold me and kiss my forehead. “It’s okay, I’ll wait for you. Forever.”

I thought he was the one who pulled me out of hell.

Until six months ago, when I went to bring him his medication for his stomach ulcer.

I walked into the room and saw him pinning the new consultant against the sofa, kissing her like an animal.

Her black lace bra was draped over his suit like a trophy.

When I caught him, Lorenzo fell to his knees. “I was drunk. I thought she was you.”

Twelve years.

I once thought he was my salvation.

It turns out the man who pulled me out of hell was the same one who pushed me into another.

Lorenzo snapped back to reality and took a step forward, reaching for my hand.

“Sonia… I’m sorry. I wasn’t in my right mind. I felt like my head was on fire. My head…”

His voice softened. The regret was already setting in.

I took a step back, dodging his hand.

“Go get some rest.”

“Sonia, let me explain—”

I was exhausted.

I walked into the guest room and locked the door.

Through the wood, I heard his two associates helping him toward the master bedroom.

“See? She stopped acting crazy. This is all water under the bridge now.”

Is it?

I slid down the door and sat on the floor.

No, it wasn’t over.

This book was too damaged to keep reading.
