When Four Billionaires Pretended to Be Poor Together Chapter 3 He Beat The Wrong Two Girls
Kieran looked stunned for half a second. He rose to his feet and stared down at me with his face going cold again. “You’re still this stubborn. Clearly, I haven’t taught you enough.” The first slap snapped my head to the side. The second one sent blood into my mouth. Then another. And another. I hit the ground hard, but he grabbed my hair and yanked me back up just to keep hitting me. By the time he finally stopped, my face was so swollen it barely felt like mine. Only then did he seem satisfied. He lifted one hand toward the bodyguards behind him. “Strip her and throw her in the basement. Three days. No food. No light. She comes out when she learns how to behave.” Two bodyguards moved instantly and grabbed my arms, dragging me toward the stairs. There was a time when Kieran would have broken someone’s hand for so much as shoving me. Now he had done worse with his own hands. And ordered me locked up. My whole body hurt so badly that it had gone numb. I didn’t even have the strength to fight them off. Just when I thought I was about to get tossed into some damp, stinking basement, a furious shout cut through Kieran’s order— “Let her go!” It was Izzy! I looked up through blurred vision. She came running straight at us, her face still bruised, one cheek swollen, and threw herself in front of me like a wall. Her gaze swept across every man there without fear. Then she lifted her right hand. On her ring finger was a ring stamped with the Windsor family crest—the private seal reserved for the governor’s direct bloodline. “My name is Izzy Windsor. The only daughter of the Governor of Cxlifornia. Touch her again, and I will have my father rip every last one of your Silicon Valley assets out by the root. And anyone who laid hands on us—start praying now. Because prison will be the kindest thing that happens to you.” The once-arrogant bodyguards all threw their hands up in surrender. Julian’s fingers shook so badly that the abortion consent form slipped right out of his hand and fluttered to the ground. He stared at Izzy like he’d seen a ghost. His lips moved. But no words came out. Kieran looked even worse. The color drained from his face. His eyes locked on Izzy’s ring and widened in shock. Izzy didn’t even spare Julian a glance. She turned to Kieran instead. “Weren’t you saying you were going to marry the Astor heiress? Sierra is the Astor heiress.” Kieran staggered. Actually staggered. Like someone had slapped him across the face in front of the entire world. His eyes snapped to me. Shock. Disbelief. Then something desperate. “Y-you… You’re… Max Astor’s daughter?”
