When Four Billionaires Pretended to Be Poor Together Chapter 01

When Four Billionaires Pretended to Be Poor Together Chapter 1 I Gave Him My Kidney—Now He Wants My Baby Dead

My best friend Izzy was a delivery girl.
She got pregnant by a broke college teaching assistant, Julian.
Afraid she’d suffer alone, I hid my identity as a billionaire heiress and married Julian’s older brother, Kieran.
Then the “poor” TA dropped the act.
“I’m the second son of the Hawthorne family—Silicon Valley royalty. I’ve had my fun with you over the past two years, and I’m getting married to a business mogul’s daughter.
“So here are your options. Abort the baby. Or stay and work as my future wife’s nanny.”
My husband stopped pretending too.
“The Astor heiress in New Yxrk will be my wife. At best, you can warm my bed when she’s not around.”
They tossed two NDA agreements in our faces and walked out.
Izzy broke down crying.
I pulled her close.
“Truth is, I am that Astor heiress.”
Izzy stopped crying instantly. She pulled out a ring engraved with the Windsor family crest—the private seal reserved for relatives of the Cxlifornia governor.
“Why the hell didn’t you tell me? I played broke for two years because I didn’t want you to feel weird around me. I’m the only daughter of the governor of Cxlifornia!”
So Izzy was the governor’s daughter.
Of course she was.
That explained why nothing ever fell through for her. Why every clerk, every manager, every random official was so polite.
I used to think she was just lucky.
That she always ran into nice people.
We both burst into laughter.
“So, what about the baby?”
“My child? No one touches my child. And that pathetic Silicon Valley upstart family thinks they can force me into an abortion? I was blind to end up with an animal like Julian. That’s on me. Just wait—once I get back to Cxlifornia, my father will tear them apart.”
That night, Izzy called her dad and sobbed through the whole story.
Governor Alistair Windsor exploded.
He promised he’d arrive before sunrise—with lawyers and enough power to teach the Hawthornes exactly who they had messed with.
But the next morning, before I even fully woke up, a gut-wrenching scream ripped through the yard.
I ran outside barefoot.
Izzy was pinned face-down against the concrete by two bodyguards.
And Julian—
Julian was gripping her wrist, trying to force her thumbprint onto an abortion consent form.
“Julian!”
I shoved him away and pulled Izzy behind me.
“Are you f*cking insane?” I screamed. “She’s pregnant! How could you do this to her?”
Julian looked nothing like the broke TA he used to pretend to be.
Tailored suit. Polished shoes. Gold watch.
At his feet were ripped pieces of the consent form Izzy had apparently torn apart and thrown in the trash.
Julian pointed at them with that cold, expensive cruelty.
“Fine, she refuses to sign. But she had the nerve to rip it up? A delivery girl with no class thinks she gets to be this arrogant?”
Before I could move, he spat right in Izzy’s face.
Then he lifted his foot and drove it toward her stomach.
“I’m getting rid of this bastard today, no matter what.”
He tilted his chin at the bodyguards.
The bodyguards grabbed Izzy again.
“This is happening. Sign the damn thing today.”
Izzy curled around herself, shaking so hard her whole body trembled. Tears mixed with blood at the corner of her mouth.
“Last year, when your kidneys were failing, I donated my kidney to save you… And this is how you repay me?”
Julian burst out laughing.
“Nobody begged you to save me. You chose to do that. Don’t act like it makes you special. Girls like you exist to serve women like my future wife.”
Julian’s hand cracked across Izzy’s face.
Blood bloomed at the corner of her mouth.
I stepped in front of her, shaking with rage.
“You chased her,” I spat. “You proposed to her. And now you want to throw her away because some rich girl showed up? I don’t care how powerful her family is. In my eyes, that b*tch is just a homewrecker.”
Julian’s expression darkened instantly.
Then his hand slammed across my face so hard I hit the concrete.
“A backwater nobody thinks they can talk trash to the Hawthornes? I’m gonna kill you.”
For a second, my vision exploded white. Blood filled my mouth.
My parents had never laid a hand on me.
Who the hell does Julian think he is?
And behind me, Izzy was still curled on the ground while his guards dragged her like she was nothing.
Something primal snapped loose inside me.
I spat blood onto the pavement and surged forward.
The Astor family’s close-combat training lived in my bones.
My fist slammed straight into Julian’s face.
Crunch.
His nose bone shattered on impact.
Before he could recover, my knee drove hard between his legs.
Then I spun and kicked him across the jaw.
He flew back nearly ten feet and crashed to the ground, face already swelling purple, blood pouring from his nose.
Julian clutched his face and stared at me in horror.
“How—how do you know Astor’s combat style? Who are you?”
