Ethan cut Chloe off impatiently and hung up.

He was in no mood to soothe a woman panicking over a few gossip columns.

Amelia.

An image of her face from the last time they’d fought flashed in his mind—pale as paper, her eyes wide with shock.

Back then, he had only wanted to scare her a little, to make her see reality and stop her useless machinations.

But it seemed the lesson hadn’t stuck.

Ethan felt a flicker of relief.

He decided he would go find her in person.

As long as she was willing to explain to the trust committee that this was all a misunderstanding, he would withdraw the divorce petition.

He could even take her to Europe.

The moment the thought occurred to him, Ethan felt he was being more than generous.
