He Scorned Me, Now I’m a CEO He Can’t Afford Chapter 45

Everyone she knew despised her.

She had nowhere left to go.

So she had focused all her hatred on one person.

If it weren’t for Lena, none of this would have happened.

So she had run away, set the fire, and planned to drag Lena down with her.

She had never expected the one to fall would be Wyatt.

She watched the flames, a strange smile playing on her lips as the police rushed over and tackled her.

“Lena,” she whispered, “in the end, you still didn’t win… Wyatt… is still mine.”

As the police dragged her away, Lena could no longer see or hear anything else.

She scrambled to her feet and stumbled toward the fire.

“Wyatt!”

She screamed until her voice was raw, but the only reply was the crackle of burning timber.

Workers and firefighters rushed forward, putting out the flames and slowly, carefully, moving the beam.

But it was too late.

Lena fell to her knees beside him, her hand landing in the blood pooling on the ground.

Her palm came away slick and red.

“Don’t talk…” She tried to stay calm, but her voice shook uncontrollably. “The ambulance is on its way. It’ll be here soon…”

Wyatt faintly shook his head.

He struggled to lift his gaze to hers.
