Drowning in Love Chapter 08

The others?

It only hit me then that he was still hung up on the two models who’d already left. I didn’t tell him the truth. I wanted to see how far he’d go.

The bathroom was huge, the air sharp with cold water. Travis’s skin felt cool to the touch, but his palms were scorching. I could feel his heart pounding under my hand.

“Actually,” he said, “there’s something I want to show you.’

I guessed he meant the tattoo. Sure enough, the next second he took my hand and guided it down over his smooth, dark abs, stopping low on his stomach where a thick vein stood out. “Do you feel it?”

The heat of his palm completely fried my brain. I panicked and blurted, “It’s… it’s pretty big.”

Travis’s breath caught. “I meant the tattoo,” he said hoarsely. “It has your name on it.”

“Oh.” I put on a fake look of surprise. “Really?”

Then I tilted my head. “Take your clothes off so I can see it properly.”

Before, he would’ve blushed and turned away. Now my words were a spark to a fuse.

He tore off the careful restraint he’d been wearing and shoved me back against the sink.

“My thing’s pretty good too,” he murmured, voice low and dangerous. “Wanna try it out?”

Before I could answer, Travis lost control. His arm cinched around my waist, his other hand pried my mouth open, and he kissed me like he was starving. His breath was hot as flame.

“Anna,” he rasped against my lips, “don’t go looking for them. If you’re going to sleep with anyone, sleep with me.”

Travis turning into a wolf on his own was, honestly, the miracle of the century. Steam fogged the mirror as 1 stared at him in disbelief, while his big hand covered my mouth and sweat from his chest soaked into my shoulder.

“Keep it down,” he warned, voice rough. “There are people next door.”

If you know there are people, at least be gentle.

My vision blurred. I couldn’t take much more. “Switch… switch positions. It’s too stuffy in here.”

“No.”

There was a flash of panic in his voice.

Did he think I wanted a threesome?

I huffed, exasperated. “They left ages ago. Wendy brought them over to be live models for me!”

Travis froze for a full two seconds.

Then he changed completely.

He kicked the bathroom door open, scooped me up, and carried me straight out. A heartbeat later, he tossed me onto the wide, soft bed. Like a starving beast, he pinned me down and stole my breath.

If what just happened was a shower, this was a hurricane.

I’d never seen him so relentless. My nails left red marks across his broad back. He murmured as if to soothe me, but he didn’t slow down.

The little bell around his neck, the one he used to tease me, jingled all night.

It wasn’t until faint birdsong slipped in from outside that he pressed a hand to my stomach and asked, a bitter edge in his voice, “Those two… did they touch you here too?”

Who?

I went limp like a rag doll, completely out of sync with whatever was happening in his head. “You bastard… one more time and I’m going to fall apart!”

“Good girl,” he breathed. “One last time.”

The next morning, Travis was already gone to the office. Sore all over, I stayed sprawled in bed until Wendy called. Her laugh on the other end was anything but innocent.

“My two models told me someone was so loud last night, the whole place almost shook.”
