Drowning in Love Chapter 07

I didn’t call him out.

I stepped aside. “Please.”

When Travis came iti, he was carrying a fruit plate and a small, mysterious paper bag. His gaze cut sharply over the two men on the sofa.

They were wiped from performing. Faces flushed, clothes a mess, breathing hard. When Travis saw the rumpled sheets, his fist clenched so tightly his knuckles popped. It took him a long moment to rein in that murderous look before he went into the bathroom.

The second the door shut, the two models started trembling.

“Oh my God, Anna. Your husband just looked like he could send us to the morgue.”

I hadn’t seen Travis’s expression. Hearing that, I lifted an eyebrow.

“Thanks for your hard work tonight. You can head out now.”

“Okay, okay. Hope you have a night to remember.”

I hoped so.

Water started running in the bathroom. I straightened the messed-up sheets, then crept to the bathroom door. It was eerily quiet inside.

I went back to the sofa and checked Travis’s private account. Sure enough, he’d posted fifteen minutes earlier.

DeepSeaShark: “She actually called me ‘darling.’ That sweetness is hiding the guilt of her cheating. I want her to keep calling me that, but not because she’s just been with some other man.

“The laughter next door is killing me. Am I too dull, or did I give her too much freedom? Over and over, she gets dazzled by those cheap, random men.”

“I’m losing it. How far did they go? What right do those two guys have to win her over? I can do it too, and better, so she can’t live without me.”

“I’m done with this. I’m going to make her feel wanted right now. Even if she cries and begs, I won’t stop. I’m going to punish her for being greedy.”

Reading the last line sent a chill down my spine.

A soft sound came from the bathroom. Then Travis’s voice, rougher than usual. “Anna, can you grab the towel by the door?”

I realized he’d left it there on purpose.

I took a deep breath, knocked lightly, and played along.

An arm slick with water slipped through the crack and yanked the door wider. Travis filled the doorway, cool air rushing out at me.

And then I saw what he was wearing.

That butler outfit was cut low enough to show a scandalous amount of chest. My jaw nearly dropped.

Normally, Travis stuck to custom suits or plain loungewear. Everything about him was controlled, polished, untouchable. But in that suggestive outfit, with that hazy stare, he looked dangerously, chaotically sexy.

It hit me so hard I couldn’t look away.

I forced down the urge to shove him against the wall and waved the towel in my hand. “You’re dressed Why do you need a towel?”

“To dry off.”

He grabbed my wrist, guided my hand, and pressed my palm to his firm, warm chest. The sensation shot straight through me.

He was obviously doing this for the first time. His handsome face was flushed, his expression awkwardly intent When he saw I didn’t pull away, he hooked an arm around me and tugged me into the bathroom.

“This kind of thing between a husband and wife belongs in the bedroom,” he said, voice low. “Don’t give the others a show.”
