The CEO Cheated On Livestream With My Credit Card Chapter 04

After hung up, the boardroom went dead silent. Then everyone burst into wild, mocking laughter.

Simon looked at me like just told the joke of the century. “Natalie, you’ve lost your mind. Cancel all the contracts? Who do you think you are?”

“Those executives only work with us because of me. You’re a housewife. What makes you think you can

order them around?”

Celeste was laughing so hard tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Simon, I think she got oxygen deprivation climbing the stairs. She’s living in a fantasy world.”

Barry shook his head, his eyes full of pity. “Natalie, big talk like that just makes you look pathetic.”

Simon grabbed the signed agreement, glanced at it to make sure everything was in order, then said, “Security. Throw this sweat-soaked woman out of my building.”

That’s when it started.

Everyone’s phone went off at once, vibrating like on cue.

“Hello? Mr. Taylor? What do you mean you’re pulling your capital? That’s not what our contract says…” One

shareholder’s face turned white as a ghost.

“Mr. Li, our deal was already finalized. How could you…” Another shot to his feet. His fountain pen clattered

to the floor.

Someone yelled, “Look at the stock price.

Simon picked up his phone. The stock was still dropping.

All the shareholders turned to him. “Mr. Chase, what’s going

Simon scrambled to call their business partners. But most of them hung up the second they heard his voice.

Finally, someone picked up. “Mr. Zimmerman? It’s Simon. Why are you backing out? I thought we had a

good thing going.”

On the other end of the line, Todd Zimmerman snorted. His voice dripped with undisguised contempt.

“Simon Chase, you just screwed with the wrong person.”

“You wanted to be a big shot and take all of Ms. Hale’s shares? Fine. From now on, your company could go under tomorrow and none of us would lose sleep over it.”

Simon froze. All the color drained from his face. His voice shot up an octave. “Mr. Zimmerman… what are

you talking about? What does Natalie have to do with this?”

What am I talking about?” Zimmerman scoffed.

“You think all those business partners came to you for fun? That every big contract landed on your desk by accident? That those picky executives sat through your boring presentations out of the goodness of their

hearts?”

Simon’s eyes darted toward me, then away just as fast. “It’s because I’m good at what I do,” he said, trying to sound tough.

“Good at what you do?” Zimmerman laughed like he’d just heard the most ridiculous joke. “Simon, you really know how to toot your own horn.”

“Look around Ashford. Capable people are a dime a dozen. The only reason anyone did business with you was because of Ms. Hale. Because you were the Hale family’s son-in-law. You actually thought you were some kind of business genius?”

“Let me spell it out for you. Everything you have right now, Ms. Hale gave you. Without her, you’re nothing.”

“And now she’s made it clear. This company has nothing to do with her anymore. Which means no one is going to help you.”

The line went dead.

The phone slipped out of Simon’s hand. His whole body started shaking.

His head snapped toward me.

“Who the hell are you, Natalie?

y does everyone listen to you with just one call?”

I watched him squirm and couldn’t help but laugh.

“Natalie Hale… the Hale family…” Simon muttered to himself. His face went from white to green.

Someone in the crowd shouted, “Is she talking about that mysterious Hale family?”

“Who else has that kind of power?”

“No way!” Celeste shrieked, cutting through the noise.

“If she were really the Hale family heiress, Simon would know. He’s her husband.”

She grabbed Simon’s arm. “Don’t listen to her, Simon. She hired actors. She’s trying to scare us.”

Simon latched onto that like a drowning man grabbing a lifeline. “That’s right. You’re putting on a show. If you really loved me, you would’ve told me. There’s no way I wouldn’t know.”

“The stock transfer agreement is already signed. The company is mine now. Don’t even think about taking it back.”

He barely finished speaking when the boardroom doors were slammed open from the outside.
