My Parents Said I Was Finally Behaving After I Died Chapter 10

Sloan asked with feary eyes, “Where’s my daughter? I want to see her.”

The staff said coldly, “Your daughter is in a deep sleep. According to our policy, no one can see her.

“Otherwise, the cryonic experiment will stop, and by that time, there might not be a chance for her to wake up ever again.”

Sloan immediately shook her head in fear. “No… don’t stop the experiment. I won’t see her. I won’t see her.”

Fred had already heard a detailed explanation of this experiment from his assistant. He felt that this was an absurd concept.

However, if it meant there was a very slim chance for Daphne to survive, he did not want to risk it.

He asked with teary eyes, “What did my wife… leave me?”

The staff then passed him a letter and said indifferently, “According to our policy, every donor can leave something behind for their family.

“Ms. Daphne left a letter. You may take this.”

Fred took the letter and immediately opened it.

When he saw that the paper was blank, he was stunned.

The paper fell onto the floor. Richard picked it up and looked at it silently.

Fred covered his face and said dejectedly, “Did you really hate me so much? You… didn’t even leave a word for me.”

At the same time, his assistant ran in and said, “Mr. Fred, bad news! The police are here! They’re starting an investigation on you for snatching the donated heart and wasting resources.

“Besides… someone’s dashcam recorded what happened to Ms. Daphne before her death… Now, everyone on the internet is yelling at us.”

Fred did not respond. He felt a heaviness in his chest as a buzzing sound echoed in his head.

His chest throbbed in pain, just like how Daphne might have felt.

He pressed his hand against his heart. He felt a bit light-headed before he passed out.

When he woke up, he saw his worried mother and his stoic father looking at him.

Upon seeing him wake up, his father said, even before his mother could utter a word, “Look at all the stupid things you’ve done! You misjudge people, do whatever you like, and misuse your power… Our company’s reputation is ruined!

“To protect the company’s reputation, the board of directors has decided to reclaim your stakes and terminate you as the CEO.”

Fred looked at his father’s icy demeanor and suddenly realized how Daphne might have felt when her parents hated and accused

her of everything.

He deserved this. But what about Daphne?

She had never done anything wrong. Why was she framed and hated by the people closest to her?

He sobbed when he thought of that.

His mother said in sympathy, “Don’t cry, Fred. I have some stocks. I’ll transfer mine to you…”

His father said coldly, “If you hadn’t spoiled him, would he make such a terrible mistake? If you dare to help him again, you can leave this family with him!”

After that, he walked out and slammed the door behind them.

Fred’s mother was about to say something when he said calmly, “Mom, I’m tired. Can you give me some space?”

She was hesitant to leave.

When she left the ward, she heard a loud thus from the inside. Someone then yelled, “Someone has jumped off the building!”

Fred’s mother rushed back into the ward with wobbly legs. She saw an empty hospital bed.

She rushed to the window to look down and saw Fred lying on the cold, hard ground…

When the news of Fred’s death spread, Richard brought Diane home.

When she entered the room, she saw Sloan acting like her usual self. She said gently, “Diane, you’re back? I’ve made your favorite chicken soup. Come and have a taste.”

Diane said guiltily, “Mom… you’re not mad at me anymore? I… I didn’t hide it from you on purpose. I was just afraid that if you

found out about Daphne’s death, you’d be too sad, so I…”

Sloan shook her head and said gently, “Let’s just drop it. It’s Daphne’s luck that took her to where she was.

“From now on, you’re our only daughter. You must take good care of your health, alright?”

Diane immediately let out a sigh of relief. She knew that even if Daphne was dead, her parents would still love her.

She happily ate a spoonful of the soup. She looked around and asked, “Where’s Mrs. Jane?”

Sloan said indifferently, “I sent her to a mental hospital.

“She kept saying that Daphne was looking for her every night.”

Diane dropped her spoon.

Sloan comforted her. “Don’t be scared. It’s just nonsense.”

She nodded with a smile.

Sloan and Richard served her food as they chatted about the fun memories from her childhood.

Every single memory was proof of how much they doted on Diane.

Diane sighed and said, “You treat me so well.”

Sloan immediately teared up. She caressed Diane’s face, then she put a little more force.

Diane yelped in pain.

Sloan was laughing and crying as she said maniacally, “Yes, your father and I had treated you so well. Even our own blood didn’t compare to you.

“Why weren’t you satisfied? Why… Why did you kill her?

“My daughter’s dead! Do you really think I would let you live?”

Diane pushed Sloan away in fear, but Richard pinned her against the table.

She yelled and struggled, but Richard’s face was cold and devoid of emotion.

“Dad!”

He forcefully fed her the entire bowl of soup.

He said through gritted teeth, “Daphne did not even leave us her last words. Fred has already atoned for his sins. You should join him!”

At the same time, someone was walking downstairs.

Sloan looked at Sammy, who was standing on the stairs, and smiled lovingly.

She gestured to him to come over and said, “Sammy, come over. I’ve made you your favorite soup.”

In the living room, a sad voice whispered, “Everyone has sins. We all have different sins…

“Who can decide who’s right or wrong and who deserves to sleep forever…”

The End.
