The Comments Told Me I Was Carrying His Only Heirs Chapter 02

The second ML Josiah and the FL kept talking, so I had no choice but to wait outside.

About half an hour later, the FL took a phone call and hurried away.

After she left, Josiah sat there looking utterly devastated for a moment before slowly walking out.

I mustered up all my courage, stepped directly into his path, and gave an awkward wave, “Hi!”

Josiah stopped in his tracks, staring down at me with a cold, puzzled expression, “Do I know you?”

I gritted my teeth and blurted, “Um, can you split the medical bill with me?”

Josiah blinked, clearly caught off guard, “What?”

Looking at his blank stare, I realized he truly didn’t recognize me at all.

I forced myself to double down and explain, “Two months ago, on the night of June twenty-sixth, at a certain motel… did you sleep with a girl?”

Josiah’s casual demeanor instantly vanished, his face hardening.

After a few seconds of silence, he looked at me with deceptive calmness and asked, “What do you want?”

From his expression, it was obvious he thought I was trying to blackmail him.

He was completely wrong about that. I didn’t have the guts or the street smarts for extortion.

Though if he insisted on giving me an extra compensation on top of the medical fees, I certainly wasn’t going to turn it down.

I pulled my ultrasound report out of my bag, held it out to him, and said very carefully, “I’m pregnant and need to schedule a procedure. I just graduated from college and don’t have any savings, so I was wondering if you could… pay for half of it?”

Josiah looked down at the medical report in my hands, his brows knitting even tighter, “Mine?”

His voice was dripping with suspicion.

I completely understood why.

Given his condition, it would be weirder if he didn’t doubt it.

Pretending to think he was worried about the timeline, I quickly explained, “The doctor said pregnancy is calculated from the first day of one’s last period, so… it’s a few days earlier than the night we were together.”

“I’ve only ever slept with you, so the babies are absolutely yours. If you don’t believe me, we can do a paternity test!”

Josiah stayed silent for a long moment, his eyes boring into mine with absolute seriousness, “Do you have any idea what happens to people who lie to me?”

I could hear the unspoken threat in his voice, but I didn’t flinch.

The babies were a hundred percent his, after all.

I looked right back at him, standing my ground, “I admit I made the first move that night… but you didn’t exactly resist either, so it’s not like I forced you! You had a part in creating this baby. Logically and morally, you should pay half the cost of the procedure!”

Even if billionaires were notoriously cheap, he was the heir to a massive fortune. Surely he wouldn’t pinch pennies over a medical bill!

Josiah’s mouth twitched violently.

[Girl, you’re taking a huge loss by only asking him to cover the procedure. Have the babies and inherit his hundred-billion fortune!]

[This random girl is both cowardly and bold at the same time. Kind of adorable.]

[Hey Author, can we just make them a couple already? They’re actually pretty cute as a couple.]

[Agreed!]

[Same here!]

I mean, sure, part of me did want to have the baby and inherit his billions.

But as the tragic rival in a romance story, he would definitely rather have no heirs at all than accept a child born from any woman other than the FL.

That was just how these stories went!
