My Fiancé’s Confession From the Future Chapter 02

My Fiancé’s Confession From the Future Chapter 02

The next day I went to my studio as usual.

I had always trusted Jessica completely. After she joined the studio, I had never touched her computer.

Now I opened her work folder and froze.

Inside were all my original designs, filed by date. Every single one had been backed up.

I immediately messaged the future Ethan. “Jessica copied all my designs. Did you know?”

His reply came that afternoon.

“I knew. Your studio will be taken over by a new company this year through a hostile acquisition. The actual controller behind that company is Jessica.”

“I provided the funding. The design files came from your computer.”

I sat in front of the screen, staring at my sketches.

Every single one was something I had stayed up late to draw.

Three years ago, I had turned down a high-paying corporate job to start my own business.

Ethan had been supportive. He gave me all his company’s liquid capital to fund my startup.

And now he was going to take it all back and hand it to another woman.

That evening, Jessica came to the studio with two iced coffees.

“Serena, have you been under too much stress lately? You look terrible. How about I take you to the spa this weekend?”

I glanced at her.

“Sure.”

After Jessica left, I messaged the future Ethan.

“The studio thing. Did you ever regret it?”

The reply came quickly.

“Yes. It was the thing you were most proud of. I shouldn’t have touched it.”

A few seconds later, he added another line.

“But at the time, Jessica said she wanted her own career too, so…”

That night when I got home, Ethan was cooking in the kitchen.

On the stove was my favorite dish, tomato braised beef.

He turned around when he saw me and smiled.

“You’re back. Tired today?”

I sat at the dining table. He handed me chopsticks.

“Serena, we’re having the wedding next month. Do you want a traditional ceremony or a Western one?”

I forced a smile.

“You decide.”

After he fell asleep past midnight, I took a shower.

The scar on my right shoulder was still there.

Fifteen years ago, I got it protecting my best friend from her stepfather’s abuse.

Back then, she was beaten so badly she was afraid to go home. I stayed up with her night after night until she made it through.

I thought after everything we had been through, we were the closest people in the world.

I opened my phone.

“What else has Jessica done? Tell me everything. Don’t leave anything out.”

Before long, he sent a long message.

“Actually, the worst thing she did wasn’t about your career. It was about your father.”

“Your dad has a heart condition. I arranged his specialist appointments every month.”

“But the day your father died, he could have been saved. Except…”

His message cut off there.

When I saw the mention of my father, I couldn’t stay calm anymore.

I messaged him asking for more, then waited for hours.

No reply came.
