A Decade’s Betrayal Chapter 10

A Decade’s Betrayal Chapter 10

Christopher and I held a grand wedding.

It was only then that I learned Christopher had started his own internet company.

And it was thriving.

I was still feeling dazed when Lucian appeared.

The moment I saw him, I instinctively wanted to explain things to Christopher.

But Christopher gently patted the back of my hand.

“Easy,” he murmured, his voice low and reassuring. “I’ve got this.”

With that, he took my hand and led me over to Lucian.

“Mr. Vance. Thank you for coming to celebrate our wedding.”

I didn’t know whether it was my imagination, but Lucian seemed different from before.

He no longer carried that overwhelming arrogance.

There was a trace of sorrow in his eyes, and even his face looked a little pale.

What surprised me even more was that Victoria wasn’t by his side.

Instead, he was accompanied by a male assistant.

Lucian looked me over briefly, then took out a bank card and handed it to Christopher.

“This is my wedding gift to the two of you.”

Christopher accepted it with a mocking smile, glanced at it once, then handed it back.

“That’s generous of you, but we can’t accept. I may not be in your league, Mr. Vance, but I assure you,

Jessica wants for nothing.”

Lucian’s fingers tightened slightly.

A moment later, his gaze shifted to me.

“Jessica, I wish you happiness.”

I met his gaze, my smile serene and unshakable.

“Thank you, Lucian,” I said, using his given name for the last time, releasing the last ghost of our past. “We

will be.”
