The Don’s Fallen Queen Chapter 06

The Don’s Fallen Queen Chapter 06

Dante could see the kid’s lips moving, but for a second, he heard absolutely nothing.

“What the fuck are you saying?” he roared.

The young soldier collapsed to his knees, shaking so badly he could barely hold up the photograph in his hands.

Dante snatched it away.

The image hit him like a bullet.

A woman wrapped in sheer silk—nearly naked—was climbing a golden hot air balloon.

Smiling.

Beautiful.

Untouchable.

There was no mistaking her.

It was Sierra.

Sound crashed back into the room all at once.

“Don—we don’t know how it happened, but the photo’s spreading everywhere,” the soldier stammered. “The whole city’s seen it. It’s already crossing state lines.”

Something twitched violently at the corner of Dante’s mouth.

“Bring me my gun,” he said hoarsely. “Gather the men.”

His eyes stayed locked on the photograph.

“Half of you keep searching for her.”

His voice dropped colder.

“The other half burns every copy of that picture you can find.”

Once the room emptied, he traced her face slowly with his thumb.

“I’m the one who dragged you into this hell, Sierra,” he said quietly. “I destroyed you.”

His jaw tightened.

“But I will never let the world humiliate you for it.”

“I won’t marry Elena.”

His voice was low and exhausted now.

“I’ll make things right with her some other way.”

“But the place beside me stays yours. Until you come back… no one else touches it.”

While wiping down his pistol, he ordered someone to bring Roxanne in.

The second she saw him, she dropped to her knees.

“Don Moretti,” she said shakily, “what do you need?”

“Everything,” he said coldly. “Every detail about what happened after Sierra came here.”

Roxanne didn’t dare lie.

“When she first arrived… she was difficult,” she admitted carefully. “I told her she’d break eventually. I told her pride only makes the fall hurt worse.”

“She needed ten million dollars to buy herself out. Working the floor as a hostess would never earn enough.”

Dante’s face darkened as his grip slowly tightened around the armrest of the couch.

“She cried after her first night,” Roxanne continued quietly. “The clients hated her attitude. They beat her so badly she couldn’t get out of bed for a week.”

“She kept calling your name in her sleep.”

Roxanne lowered her eyes.

“She thought you were coming to save her.”

Dante slowly lowered the gun in his hand.

Then he lifted his head.

His eyes had gone completely black.

“Before I brought her here,” he said softly, “I made myself perfectly clear.”

His voice was terrifyingly calm.

“You were supposed to protect her.”

The room fell deathly silent.

Dante stared at Roxanne without blinking.

“Who the fuck gave you permission,” he asked quietly, “to force her into prostitution?”

Roxanne began trembling uncontrollably.

For the first time, Dante Moretti looked like a man seconds away from killing someone.
