I stopped speaking and calmly removed my outermost layer of clothing.

The -184°F temperatures of Antarctica didn’t bother me at all.

But Vivian, on the other side of the screen, collapsed to the floor almost instantly.

“So cold… so cold…” she murmured.

Her body shook uncontrollably. As soon as her physiological tears flowed, they froze into ice.

But she didn’t forget to hurl insults:

“You little bitch! Put your clothes back on right now!”

“Using such low-class methods against me-I’ll kill you sooner or later!”

Low-class?

Using the exact same method to pay her back was low-class?

I remained unmoved and prepared to take off the next layer.

Luke was stunned and frozen.

He finally managed to react, quickly pulling Vivian into a tight embrace.

He shouted threats and warnings at me:

“Maya, put your clothes on right now! Can’t you see my sister is shivering because of you?”

“Even if you’re jealous, there’s a limit.”

“If you keep being this stubborn, we’re breaking up!”

That last sentence was delivered with a tone of charity.

I found it absurd. Where did he get this confidence?

“We broke up a long time ago,” I said coldly.

“You…”

Luke was choked by my response, his face filled with humiliation.

He was about to lecture me further when his phone suddenly rang.

It was his boss from the company.

“Luke, you’re fired. Get to the office right now and pack your things.”

“If they aren’t gone in an hour, you can go pick them up at the landfill yourself.”

The boss hung up immediately after finishing.

Luke gripped the phone tightly, unable to believe his ears.

“How can this be? I’m the top salesman… how could I be fired?”

Hearing his confident remark, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

If I hadn’t been secretly feeding him resources, would he have been the top salesman?

Moreover, the company belonged to me in the first place.

Luke would never have imagined that the girlfriend he thought did nothing but rot at home all day was actually the CEO of a publicly-traded corporation.

I couldn’t help but feel relieved.

Back when we got together, I had kept a card up my sleeve.

A text popped up on my phone:

“Ms. Sterling, Luke has been fired.”

I smiled and sent back a message to the professional manager about doubling their annual bonus.

On the video, Luke was still mumbling to himself.

He seemed unable to accept it.

“Impossible… how could I be fired…”

“The manager must be jealous of me, afraid I’ll take their spot… I’m going to tell the owner! Yes! I’m going to complain!”

I watched with cold eyes.

I really must have been blind before.

Vivian had wrapped herself in every blanket in the house by now.

But it was useless.

I, on the other hand, was starting to feel a bit warm.

She finally stopped acting tough and cried as she apologized to me:

“Maya! I beg you! Please let me go… I’m really going to freeze to death.”

It felt like ice was forming in the marrow of her bones; every tiny movement consumed all her

energy.

Vivian was in a state of utter panic.

She was truly terrified of freezing to death.

Seeing my cold indifference,

She started begging Luke again:

“Luke! Please talk to Maya… she’ll definitely listen to you…”

Luke was already irritable, and being touched by her hands, which were colder than ice,

He shoved her away in an instant of annoyance.

He had just been fired; having her pester him was just too much.

Vivian, having been shoved aside, couldn’t believe her eyes.

“Why?”

Why did the brother who used to cherish her now look completely different?

I watched their interaction with mockery.
