His Intern Called Him “Bro”— Too Bad I Wrote the Pick-Me Girl Manual! Chapter 05

His Intern Called Him “Bro”— Too Bad I Wrote the Pick-Me Girl Manual! Chapter 05

I scrolled through the old photos of Luca and me on my phone and deleted them one by one.

Then I backed everything up to the cloud — Ruby’s history from the [Syndicate Wives: Damage Control] group, every piece of proof of every line Luca had crossed.

You two wanted to play? Fine. Watch it all burn.

If they wanted to keep playing the sibling act, I’d make sure the whole syndicate saw what was hiding underneath.

I called Naomi Sterling — lawyer, group member, and the sharpest woman I knew.

“Naomi, I need you to find out where the Moretti enterprise is holding this off-site retreat. Hotel. Room number.”

“On it. What else?”

“Get me someone you trust. I need an ‘accidental’ livestream.”

Naomi laughed.

“Say no more. Want me to come get you?”

“Please.”

“I’ll be there in thirty.”

I hung up and walked into the closet.

My red silk dress was hanging in the back, glowing like a flame waiting to be lit.

I put on my war paint — the dress, the heels, the full face of killer makeup in front of the mirror.

It was perfect.

The livestream was starting soon, and I refused to show up looking anything less than devastating while those two drowned in their own mess.

Naomi’s red sports car idled out front. She wore sunglasses and whistled at me.

The car tore down the highway, wind ripping through my hair, and every nerve in my body was on fire.

An hour later, we pulled up to the resort.

I flashed my ID and dropped the Moretti name at the front desk, and they handed over the spare key without a question.

Room 801.

I could hear laughter bleeding through the heavy wooden door.

I swiped the key and pushed the door open.

I didn’t even look at the two of them tangled up in bed.

Instead, I walked straight to the window and pulled the curtains wide open.

Fireworks were blooming across the night sky, one burst after another.

They were truly beautiful.

I’d arranged them myself — a little ceremony for the occasion.

Too bad it was about to become the opening act of their downfall.

I watched the fireworks for a moment, smiled, and video-called Elena.

Her perfectly preserved face filled the screen, impatience already written all over it.

“Sienna? It’s late. What is it now?”

My voice was gentle.

“Elena, Luca said he wanted to give you a surprise.”

I turned the camera slowly toward the bed.

Naomi’s guy was already at the door, phone camera rolling, and the livestream viewer count was climbing by the second.

I watched the color drain from Luca’s face, and when I spoke, my voice was soft.

“Don’t worry. Tonight’s surprise is just getting started.”
