My Husband Sold My Innocence Fifteen Times Chapter 02

I lay crumpled on the ground, half-laughing, half-sobbing — drained, limp, barely human.

Neither of them even looked at me. Liam tipped his chin toward the bodyguards, and just like that, they dragged me back into the cage.

A dozen men stood in a loose ring around me, and Liam looked them over like he was choosing from a menu. Every pair of eyes found me through the bars — hungry, blatant, shameless.

Every night of the last three years came flooding back at once — hands, voices, darkness. I curled into myself, arms clamped over my head, and screamed.

Ethan clicked his tongue, irritated, and stepped closer.

“Cut the act. Nobody’s going to touch you — Liam and I just needed you to know what it feels like, to be helpless. To be afraid. So you’d never do anything like that to Chloe again.”

“Besides, this is the last time. Wipe that makeup off before you come home — honestly, those fake wounds are pathetic.”

He watched me trembling on the cage floor, and his lip curled.

“Do you have any idea what it did to Chloe when you spread those rumors about her?”

The word rumors hit me like a punch to the chest.

When I first transmigrated into this world, the system gave me a mission — and I threw myself into it completely, pouring everything I had into Ethan and Liam.

Liam had been an orphan — mocked, cornered, beaten at school with no one to defend him. I’d been terrified, but I stood in front of him anyway, screaming until they backed off.

After graduation, he got swindled in a business deal — hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt overnight. I watched him fold in on himself under the shame of it, watched him stop eating, stop sleeping. So I sold a kidney to pay it off. I didn’t think twice.

Ethan had shut down completely after our parents died — retreated so far inside himself he barely spoke. I buried every feeling of my own and made myself his whole world, centering my entire life around him, doing whatever it took to pull him back.

By the time Liam proposed, he was a different man — successful, powerful, devoted. He swore on our wedding day that he’d spend the rest of his life loving me.

And Ethan — the brilliant, emotionally distant professor who never showed emotion to anyone — had broken down in tears the night before the wedding because he couldn’t bear the thought of letting me go.

Then, a year into the marriage, Ethan met Chloe at a charity event. She was an orphan — same as he’d been — and something in her story got past all his defenses. He brought her home and asked me to take her in like family.

I felt for her — I really did. I gave her whatever she needed, made sure everything was split evenly between us. When she wanted to study finance, I asked Liam to mentor her, help her navigate the industry’s pitfalls.

But nothing was ever enough for Chloe. Slowly, methodically, she turned them against me.

One day it was a slap she said I’d given her. The next, a chunk of hair she claimed I’d hacked off. Before long, somehow, every bully at her school became my fault too.

I could see the doubt creeping into the way Liam and Ethan looked at me — a distance that hadn’t been there before. They warned me a few times, but they let it slide.

Until the day someone spread filthy, humiliating rumors about Chloe — everywhere — and she came home sobbing, threatening to kill herself.

Liam screamed at me for the first time in our marriage. Ethan hit me for the first time in my life.

They locked me in the basement for a month. I dropped twenty pounds. When they finally came downstairs, their eyes were glassy and swollen, like they were the ones who’d been wronged.

They told me they wanted to make it up to me — a trip to the Alps, just the three of us, to watch the sunrise.

They handed me over before we even made it.

Three years in that auction house. Three years swallowed by darkness. The whole thing had been so perfectly arranged it would almost be funny, if there were anything left in me to feel.

The tears were fake. The trip was fake. The only real thing was the punishment — conceived, delivered, and carried out by the two people I’d given everything to.

The two men I’d bled for — the ones I’d emptied myself out trying to save — were the ones holding the knife.

I stayed there, rigid and unblinking — something feral and broken in my face. Liam and Ethan stared at me like I was something they’d scraped off their shoe.

That’s when Chloe stepped forward — hesitant, wide-eyed, slipping herself between them.

“Ethan, Liam — I feel so awful for her. I don’t want her going through this anymore.”

“If she just apologizes — and means it — I’m willing to let it go. We can start over.”
