I was lost in thought in bed when the ward door crashed open.

It was Dylan, eyes blazing with fury. He charged at my bedside and slapped me hard.

“Lara! What did you tell the Alpha? He locked Daisy in the Forbidden Zone! Bailey nearly fainted when she saw Daisy’s body. You heartless woman, I regret mating with you!”

He was half-wolf, and his claws scratched my face. I tasted blood but didn’t care. I stared back defiantly. “If that’s how you feel, let’s break the Mate Bond!”

Dylan was stunned. He couldn’t believe I’d say that. Just then, Bailey entered, her eyes red and swollen.

Dylan rushed to her, embracing her tenderly. “Darling, what are you doing here? I told you to rest. I’ll handle this.”

Bailey sniffled, “I was worried you’d fight Lara. It’s all my fault. Maybe I should leave the pack.”

Dylan soothed her, “It’s not your fault. Be patient. After she gives birth, I’ll break the bond, and you’ll be my true Mate.”

I shouted, “Baby? Dylan, you’re delusional! The baby is dead!”

Dylan glared at me, “Isn’t killing Daisy enough? Now you’re cursing our child!”

His words enraged me. “Our child died because of your self-centeredness! You don’t deserve to be his father!”

Dylan’s arms around Bailey loosened. He walked towards/me.

“Baby? He was fully developed. How could he die so easily?”

I scoffed, throwing off the covers to show my bandaged abdomen. Dylan reached out, trembling.

Bailey shrieked, “Dylan, don’t believe her. Daisy said Lara was having an affair!”

‘Think about it. Why was Daisy sent to the Forbidden Zone? She must have caught them!”

“‘She tricked the Alpha into killing Daisy with that man!”

Bailey’s words seemed to rouse Dylan. He interrogated me, “How did the baby really die? Was it during your affair?”

I found his irrationality ridiculous. “When the Alpha was attacked, I was injured protecting him. Where were you?”

“If you hadn’t left with the guards, our baby wouldn’t have died!” I cried, tears in my eyes.

The Alpha’s attack was a secret. Only I knew. But Dylan didn’t believe me. He fully transformed, his claws at my

throat.

“Stop tying. If the Alpha was attacked, how could I not know? You’re hiding your infidelity. Who is that man?!”

“Everything I said is truel You’re arrogant, thinking you can control everything…”

Dylan pressed harder. “Tell me who he is, or I’ll kill you. I’ll tear him apart!”

His claws dug in, but my heart was already cold. Suddenly, an Alpha aura fitled the room.

“Dylan, I’m the ‘other man’. How will you tear me apart?”
