The Betrayed Donna Chapter 04

The Betrayed Donna Chapter 04

“Your count is indeed low. You can’t get any other woman pregnant. Only Mrs. Elena can carry your child.”

Hearing my name, Vincenzo froze for a moment.

Then, to my surprise, his anger turned into a laugh.

“Elena?”

“How much did she pay you to put on this act?”

The doctor was stunned. “Don, I…”

Vincenzo cut him off, his voice ice cold.

“Is this to drive a wedge between me and Giuliana? Or to spread rumors about Giuliana, to make me think her baby isn’t mine?”

He let out a cold laugh.

“Go back and tell Elena I don’t believe a word of it.”

“Her little tricks are so childish they make me sick.”

“If my count is low, then what was her pregnancy? A bastard from some other man?”

The doctor’s face changed. He tried to explain.

“Don, but…”

Vincenzo had lost all patience. He snapped.

“Enough!”

“I only want you to do one thing.”

“Save the child.”

“If anything happens to that baby, this entire hospital will pay for it.”

The doctor’s face went pale. He could only nod quietly.

Just then.

Vincenzo’s phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID. It was his underboss.

He answered, his voice cold.

“What?”

On the other end, the underboss’s voice was clearly panicked.

“Don, you need to come back to the wedding venue right now. Something big has happened.”

Vincenzo frowned. “What?”

The underboss spoke quickly. “The godfathers from the rival families are all here. I don’t know how they found out.

“And they said they want to give you a wedding gift.”

Vincenzo’s face darkened instantly. His voice was impatient. “Ignore them.”

“Just a bunch of losers.”

“If they cause trouble, have the bodyguards kick them out.”

He paused, his voice turning cold.

“Right now, I only care about Giuliana and the baby.”

“Until I know they’re both safe, nothing else matters.”

The underboss seemed to want to say more.

“Don, but…”

Vincenzo cut him off. “Just do as I say.”

He was about to hang up when something occurred to him.

He was silent for a moment, then lowered his voice slightly.

“How is the Donna?”

“Did she apologize?”

“If she apologized, send her

her pregnancy, I won’t hold i

the hospital. As long as she agrees to take care of Giuliana during gainst her.”

The underboss hesitated. “Well… I’m not sure.”

Vincenzo frowned, annoyed.

“Forget it then.”

“If she’s that stubborn, let her reflect on it in prison.”

He hung up, put his phone away, and turned toward the emergency room.

Just as his hand touched the door handle, a sharp, low voice came from inside.

“I said don’t save this baby!”

Vincenzo stopped cold.

He stood outside the door, his body stiff.

Inside, Giuliana’s voice was clearly anxious and impatient.

“Can’t you understand me? I’m telling you to get rid of this baby!”

“Just get rid of it, and I’ll give you a million dollars.”

Her voice was low but vicious.

“No one will know. Just you and me. Vincenzo won’t find out.”

“If Vincenzo finds out, we’ll just say Elena hit me so hard that I lost the baby. Problem solved.”

Vincenzo’s brow furrowed deeply. He pushed open the emergency room door.

Everyone inside froze.

Giuliana’s face went pale instantly. Her fingers were still frozen in midair.

Vincenzo stared at her, his voice low.

“What did you just say?”

“What do you mean get rid of the baby? We can save it. Why don’t you want to?”

Giuliana’s eyes turned red. She looked frightened, her voice trembling.

“Vincenzo… let me explain…”

Her face was pale, tears falling one by one.

“Since the Donna doesn’t want this child to be born, I’ll just make her happy.”

She bit her lip hard, her voice choked.

“The Donna already hates the baby in my belly this much. What about later?”

“If he is born and she has to raise him…”

She looked up at Vincenzo, fear in her eyes.

“The Donna will definitely find a way to kill him.”

“I’d rather get rid of him now, before he’s born, before I’ve put all my feelings into him. ”

Vincenzo’s whole body shook.

The next second, he reached out and pulled her tightly into his arms.

“Giuliana, don’t talk nonsense.”

His voice was hoarse. “The child is innocent.”

Giuliana trembled in his arms, crying in hiccups.

Vincenzo’s heart ached for her.

But beneath it all, a trace of suspicion flickered in his eyes.

He paused, then asked quietly, “What you said earlier about putting the blame on Elena. What was that about?”

Giuliana’s body stiffened noticeably.

She looked up, tears clinging to her eyelashes, her face full of grievance.

“Are you feeling sorry for her?”

“I’m like this, and you’re still defending her?”

Her voice was choked with resentment. “I just hate her for hurting my baby. Can’t I even vent?”

“Besides, the Donna is the one who hurt me and our baby. ”

The more she spoke, the more wronged she felt. She cried until she could barely speak.

“I already made up my mind.”

“Once the baby is gone, I’ll buy a plane ticket and leave you. I don’t want to bother you anymore.”

Vincenzo’s face changed drastically.

He grabbed her shoulders, his voice low but filled with suppressed anger.

“What did you say? Leave me?”

He pulled her close again, his tone almost forceful.

“I won’t allow it. Giuliana, listen to me. You and the child, I’m not letting go of either of you.”

“Whoever hurts you, I’ll make them pay.”

Giuliana slowly stopped crying in his arms.

She looked up, her eyes still glistening with tears.

“Then will you punish Elena for me?”

Vincenzo’s eyes turned cold. “Yes.”

“She dared to hurt you and the baby. She deserves the consequences.”

Giuliana finally broke into a smile through her tears. She leaned gently against him and said softly,

“Then divorce her, okay?”

“I don’t want Elena raising my child. I’m not comfortable with that.”

Vincenzo paused slightly.

He fell silent.

Giuliana didn’t get the answer she wanted. Panic flashed in her eyes.

Her voice trembled. “Didn’t you say you love me the most?”

“Didn’t you say you don’t love her anymore? That it’s just family now?”

Vincenzo closed his eyes.

After a long time, he spoke. “Yes.”

“You are the one I love the most.”

“But when I think about divorcing her, cutting her out of my life completely…”

He paused, frowning. “I can’t do it.”

“It’s like something has been ripped away from me.”

He held Giuliana tighter, as if convincing himself. “Honey, can you give me a little more time?”

“Don’t worry. I’ll send her to Sicily. She will never appear in front of you or the child again.”

“She won’t hurt you anymore.”

Giuliana finally smiled, nodded, and said softly, “Okay.”

In the examination room, the doctor breathed a sigh of relief.

After the examination, the situation was stable.

“The baby is fine. She just needs some medicine and she can go home.”

Hearing this, Giuliana immediately grabbed Vincenzo’s hand.

“Vincenzo, the wedd .” Her eyes were full of unwillingness.

“The wedding you planned for me starts in an hour. If we go back now, we’ll still make it.”

Vincenzo looked at her and smiled. “Okay. Whatever you say. ”

At the wedding venue, the lights were dazzling.

Giuliana changed into a new wedding dress and walked onto the stage with a smile.

Vincenzo stood beside her, his expression back to its usual composure.

The officiant raised the microphone and was about to speak.

Then, from the audience, someone said, “Hold on.”
