soaking through it.

“Mom, Dad, what are you all doing here?”

Mason’s face was full of fury. “Where have you been?”

I looked confused. “I accidentally got poisoned. I went to get an antidote from the housekeeper.”

I lifted my sleeve as I spoke. The gauze on my arm was seeping blood.

Mason didn’t even glance at it. Because Faye opened the door.

She was dressed. She rushed to Mason, collapsing in front of him, terror in her eyes, sobbing as she pointed at me.

“Dad. Stephanie set me up! She sprayed heat inducer in the room and tricked James and me into coming here. Dad, you

have to make this right!”

“You bitch! How could you do this to your sister?”

Mason didn’t even ask me. He slapped me across the face so hard my vision went black and my ears rang.

People whispered around me. I couldn’t hear clearly, but I was sure they were saying I was vicious and cruel.

I wiped the blood from my nose with the back of my hand. “Dad, why would I do this to Faye? What would I gain?”

Before Mason could answer, Faye screamed, “Because you want my fiance Ryan! You want to marry him, so you want to

destroy me!”

A laugh slipped out before I could stop it. “Faye, Dad hasn’t told you yet, has he? I’m already engaged to the Alpha King

We’re having our bonding ceremony next month. Do you really think I’d risk going against the Alpha King?”

Faye froze. I kept going. “Besides, I don’t even know James. How could I have tricked him into my room? Faye, do you dare

ask James to come out and explain how I supposedly tricked him?”

She didn’t dare. If James came out, their secret relationship would be exposed.

She was supposed to marry Ryan in a month. If this came out now, the pack would never forgive her

dripped from my fingers.

But then a voice came from down the hall.
