Asher Voss’s devotion was no secret in Aurora Hills. Neither 

was my constant presence at his side. 

But he’d never once mentioned me. This was the first time- 

and he’d openly acknowledged it right before the 

engagement. 

The next top comment was from someone called 

Anonymous.

I had no idea who Anonymous was. 

I’d made no friends in Aurora Hills over the years. I’d had a 

few at first, but they’d all drifted away once my life revolved 

around Asher. 

I had no attachments to Aurora Hills. 

I quietly closed the app. 

Asher must’ve been drunk that day, that’s why he’d said my 

name. 

I could picture Hudson Anderson’s shock and desperate 

attempts to bury the interview when he saw it. 

But cleaning up this mess wasn’t my problem anymore. 

My first month in Sunset Valley was slow–fixing up the 

cottage, buying flowers, cooking. 

One day, a tourist couple stopped by, gossiping about Aurora

“This rich kid caused a whole city fuss just to find his fiancée?” 

“Yeah, I heard he hired the most romantic event team in the city for a huge surprise. And she bailed on him.” 

“He waited from morning till dark at the hotel. No one could 

talk him into leaving. He swore he’d dig every inch of the ground to find her.” 

“What’s his fiancée’s name?” 

“Ms. Anderson. Elowen Anderson.”
