He Said He Hated Me, Then Begged To Be Mine Chapter 05

After getting dressed and heading out, I happened to run into Cassian by the door. 

His gaze lingered on my flawless makeup and the skimpy little outfit I had put on. His eyes turned dark and heavy, like the Malibu night pressing against the windows. 

I ignored him, slipped into my Saint Laurent heels, and walked out with my waist swaying, each sharp click of my stilettos 

trailing after me. 

Cassian stood in the shadows, his eyes dark and possessive 

like a ghost that refused to leave. 

As soon as I arrived at The Abbey, my bestie Paloma dragged 

me to sit down and ordered the go–go boys to take good care 

of me. 

Several younger guys surrounded me, a little too eager to 

please. 

One fed me fruit. One poured tequila for me. Another simply bent down and smiled like a cocky pretty boy who knew 

exactly how attractive he was. 

“Girl, you should come out more often,” he said, winking at me. “What’s the point of staying home for a man who doesn’t even know how to appreciate you?” 

I wanted to laugh, but my nose stung first. 

He was right. 

There really was no point in trapping myself beside someone who didn’t love me. 

Paloma pushed me into a go–go dancer’s arms and pressed my 

hand against his spray–tanned abs. 

“Feel that. Young meat hits different.” 

The guy, Dante, smiled and lifted his shirt, deliberately lowering his voice. 

“You like, sweetheart?” 

Another one saw him getting attention and immediately 

leaned in to feed me a drink. 

“Wanna touch mine?” 

They crowded around me, competing for attention, calling me sweetheart one after another until I felt dizzy. 

Sitting in the middle of the crowd, I somehow felt like a pair of 

eyes had grown behind me. 

They were fixed on me. 

It made my scalp prickle. 

“Oh my god, why is the male lead at The Abbey? At this hour, shouldn’t he be lying in bed hoping Serena visits his dreams?” 

“Why does the male lead look like he cried? His eyes are red.” 

“Cried? You saw wrong. The male lead is here to confirm 

whether Aurelia is playing hard to get. No matter what, they grew up together. If Aurelia lets him go, at least they won’t make things too ugly in front of Thaddeus and Margot.” 

“I think the male lead is so happy he could cry. The fly who 

kept haunting him finally decided to let him go. If it were me, 

I’d set off fireworks.” 

I partied until three in the morning before calling an Uber back 

to Bel Air. 

When I got home and changed shoes in the entryway, Cassian nearly scared me into cardiac arrest. 

He sat on the sofa, his whole body hidden in the dark, his black eyes staring straight at the door. 

When Cassian saw me come back, he didn’t say a word. He 

stood up coldly and walked upstairs. 

When I opened my eyes the next morning, dense live 

comments filled my vision again. 

“Ahhh, the male lead and the female lead finally met. So sweet. The male lead had just seen Winslow and was at his most broken. Then Serena Draycott appeared in a white coat like an angel and handed him coffee. He took it. I ship it so hard.” 

“To the male lead, Serena is light. She’s salvation. Whenever he needs someone most, Serena always appears at the perfect moment. The official couple is powerful.” 

“The male lead will remember this bottle of coffee. Next time, they’ll exchange contact information. Then he’ll find out Serena is the first love he’s been thinking about all along. I’m already excited for the romance line and career line.” 

I got out of bed and chugged water. 

For some reason, the water tasted bitter, and the sunlight felt 

harsh.
