He Said He Hated Me, Then Begged To Be Mine Chapter 03

I truly wasn’t trying to seduce him.

I didn’t even have the strength to seduce him.

The live comments stood firmly on his side.

“Ewwww. The secondhand embarrassment is painful. She really thought one hookup would make him lose his mind over her? Sweetie, that’s not how obsession works.”

“Please, can Cassian get her off my screen already? Every time she appears, my patience shuts down on its own.”

“Not gonna lie, though. As awful as she is, the girl is stunning. Tiny waist, legs for days, and that pose? I’m a woman and even I had to look twice. I hate admitting it, but it’s kind of illegal.”

I quickly pulled my skirt down and sat properly again.

“I wasn’t trying to seduce you.”

“Then what was last night?”

“Last night was mutual. It’s over. Let’s pretend nothing happened.”

“Nothing happened?”

Cassian’s face darkened instantly, and his voice dropped several degrees.

I would no longer use feelings or responsibility to pressure him.

He also wasn’t allowed to go after me or my family.

From now on, we would go our separate ways and stay out of each other’s lives.

“Aurelia. You’re incredible.”

Cassian threw out the words through gritted teeth and left with a terrible expression.

I returned to Bel Air, took a shower, buried myself under the covers, and slept all the way until noon the next day.

Well rested and starving, I went downstairs to look for food and saw Cassian.

He was sitting by the kitchen island, making tamales with Margot, while Thaddeus mixed masa in the pantry.

Margot waved me over while working.

“Come help. I don’t even know what you were doing the night before yesterday. You came back and slept like the dead. Look at Cassian. He came straight from Holt Tower and immediately helped make tamales.”

I looked at Cassian, sleeves rolled up as he worked seriously, and couldn’t understand why he was at Vance Estate.

The live comments answered my question.

“Cassian is still too kind. Yesterday, after leaving Chateau Marmont, he immediately rushed off to help Vance Properties solve its problems. After handling everything, he even came over with bags of things. If Aurelia knew, she would be smug as hell and probably cling to him even harder.”

“Thaddeus and Margot are actually good people. Too bad they raised a spoiled daughter who nearly destroyed the whole family.”

“Every time Cassian works himself to death, Aurelia just sits there and watches like it’s only natural that someone serve her. Where does she get the confidence? On one side is a spoiled heiress who only knows how to swipe cards, act superior, and wait for others to serve her. On the other is Serena, who is beautiful, capable, and considerate. If it were me, I’d know who to choose.”

For once, I sat down.

“Mom, why are you making a guest work?”

Thaddeus stuck his head out from the pantry and lectured me sternly.

“Young lady, watch your mouth.”

Margot shooed me away.

“You’re the one acting like a guest. The tamales you make are so crooked and ugly they need to apologize.”

I pointed at the crooked tamale with torn dough and exposed filling.

“I think it looks fine.”

Cassian frowned and looked at me with a dark, unreadable expression.

Before, I had been immature. I had selfishly dragged Cassian into my territory, forcing him in whether he wanted it or not.

Even after he rejected me, I would cry for two days, then crawl back to his side on the third day with no pride at all.

I thought that since we grew up together, he must have some feelings for me.

At the very least, there had never been another girl by his side.

But from now on, I would stop flattering myself.
