My Bully Mocked Me in Front of the CEO So I Destroyed Her in Seven Languages Chapter 21

Rowan and her crew from Flagship came for a follow-up feature.

“Hazel, how about we turn this exhibit into season two of the doc?”

“We can talk.”

Zane was there, too.

“I told you-you’re more than just a translator.”

Caleb stayed in the shadows of the gallery, letting me have the floor.

He was in a charcoal suit, hands in his pockets, watching me work the room under the bright lights.

A reporter asked, “Ms. Levis, you’re fluent in eight languages, yet word is you spent three years at a trade firm on a basic translator’s salary of eighty grand. Is that true?”

“It is.”

“Why hide all that talent?”

I took a beat.

“Because I was running. Every language was tied to the memory of my parents. I thought if I stayed quiet, the pain would stop. But I realized that language doesn’t just vanish because you don’t speak it. It stays in your blood, waiting for you to find your voice again.”

“What finally made you ‘find your voice”?”

“A letter from my father. He told me to shine, and then to go do what I was born to do.”

That segment hit the evening news.

By that night, a new tag was trending: “The Eight-Language Girl.”

I hated the name.

But it didn’t matter.

On day two, a ghost from my past showed up.

Wendy.

“The old me couldn’t even look herself in the eye.”

She nodded, turned, and walked away.

At the door, she looked back. “The exhibit is great. Your dad would be proud.”

Then she vanished into the crowd.

I watched her go and let out a long, slow breath.
