Amnesia Erased Luna’s Pain and Love Chapter 08

Amnesia Erased Luna’s Pain and Love Chapter 08 Severed Ties

The day she was discharged, the hospital room was silent and empty.

Florence already knew-Baldwin had gone to see Ursa again.

Three years as his mate, and she could count on one hand the number of days he’d actually stayed by her side.

She had grown used to it. Quietly, she waited for the potion to arrive. He had never marked her, after all. Once she drank it and broke their bond, he would never be able to find her again.

The witch had said the potion was special-it would sever the connection on her end, but Baldwin wouldn’t sense anything wrong until three days later. By the time he realized what had happened, she’d be long gone from the Nightfang Pack.

Meanwhile, Ursa’s Facebook page never stopped updating.

Skiing in Shaudal. Moonlit strolls on tropical islands. A photo in front of the Proit Tower.

In one snapshot, Baldwin was gently adjusting Ursa’s scarf at the foot of a snowy mountain, her smile radiant in his arms. The caption read, “He promised to show me the whole world.”

Florence scrolled past with the same indifference she’d show a stranger’s post.

Three days later, her phone rang. It was the witch. The potion was ready and left at their usual drop point.

That same day, she also received notice from the Elder Council: her disownment paperwork had been finalized.

Without delay, Florence called a cab. She picked up the potion, then stopped by the Council to retrieve the official Letter of Disownment.

Everything was ready. She could finally leave-for good.

Back home, she downed the potion in one gulp. Agony tore through her. It felt like her soul was being ripped apart. Her face went pale, but she bit her lip hard, refusing to scream.

Her wolf writhed and howled in her mind, the pain far worse than any silver-laced whip.

Time lost meaning. When the torment finally faded, something inside her felt missing.

Florence sat up, drenched in sweat as though she’d been dragged from a lake.

She stumbled to the shower, changed into clean clothes, and finally felt a little better.

Her lips were bloody from biting too hard. Her wolf was barely conscious—its strength shattered from the severed bond. Recovery would be slow.

Sighing, Florence glanced at her phone. The screen had just lit up.

Ursa wrote, “Florence, can we talk?”

Florence asked, “About what?”

Ursa replied, “You’ve been Luna for three years. Don’t you think it’s time to give it back to me?”

Florence let out a bitter laugh. She typed, “I already did.”

She tossed her phone into her bag, alongside the Letter of Disownment and the Termination of Mate Bond Agreement.

She was hungry and thought of making herself some food.

But just as she stepped into the kitchen, a sharp pain struck the back of her head.

Darkness crashed in; before she passed out, she heard the voice of Ursa and a werewolf.

When she came to, her face stung from the wind. Her eyes snapped open. She was dangling over the edge of a cliff.

Coarse rope bit into her wrists, and she could smell the stench of wolfsbane from the fibers. Her limbs burned. Below her feet stretched a seemingly endless drop into blackness.

Even if she could shift-which she couldn’t in her weakened state-she’d still be shattered by the fall.

She turned her head-Ursa was hanging nearby, suspended just like her. But her expression? Completely calm.

When she noticed Florence staring, Ursa sneered.

“You’re awake?” A masked werewolf, one of the kidnappers, grinned darkly nearby. “No rush. Your man will be here soon.”

As if on cue, thudding footsteps echoed from the distance.

Wolves-large and fast-raced toward the edge of the cliff, stopping just in time.

They shifted back into human form.

Baldwin stood at the front in a black coat, face cold, his aura sharp as steel.

“Take the money. Let them go.” His voice was low and commanding.

The lead kidnapper grinned. “Straight to the point, you do live up to your reputation, Alpha Baldwin. I like it.”

He opened the case handed over by one of Baldwin’s bodyguards. After counting, he waved. “They’re all yours. But you’ll have to pull them up yourself.”

With that, he and his gang transformed and vanished into the woods, leaving the box behind.

Florence’s rope groaned. Bits of stone crumbled from the cliff’s edge.

She clenched her teeth, trying not to panic.

One of the bodyguards inspected the ropes, his face grave. “Alpha, there’s no time. The ropes won’t hold. We can only save one.”

Baldwin didn’t hesitate. He went straight to Ursa.

At the same time, Martin and Tara arrived.

As soon as they stepped out of the car and saw what was happening, they screamed. “Ursa!”

“Save Ursa! Hurry! Oh, my baby!” Tara shrieked, hysterical.

Martin joined Baldwin. The three worked together and pulled Ursa back to safety.

Meanwhile, Florence’s rope snapped lower.

“Crack-”

She dropped several feet. Pebbles tumbled down into the abyss.

“Luna!”

One of the guards leapt forward and grabbed her rope.

It tore into his palms, blood dripping freely-but he held on. With sheer strength, he pulled Florence up.

She collapsed onto the ground, her wrists torn and bleeding.

When she looked up, Baldwin was already cradling Ursa in his arms, brushing tears from her cheeks, his voice tender enough to melt snow. “Don’t be scared. I got you.”

Martin wrapped Ursa in a jacket. Tara cupped her face, inspecting her like a precious treasure. “Sweetheart, I’m so worried about you.”

What a cruel joke. Her mate. Her parents. Not one of them cared whether she lived or died.

The group circled around Ursa and took her away, no one sparing Florence a glance.

The bodyguard who saved her life turned to her; he asked hesitantly, “Luna, are you alright?”

Florence slowly stood, brushing dirt from her clothes.

“Thank you for saving me,” she said quietly. “Can I ask you one more favor?”

She pulled the documents from her bag, the Termination of Mate Bond Agreement and the Letter of Disownment, and handed them to the guard.

“Please deliver these gifts to my parents and to Alpha Baldwin.”

This would be her last gift to them.

The bodyguard didn’t look closely, nor did he ask questions. He simply nodded. “Right away.”

Florence stood still, watching him walk over to Baldwin.

Baldwin didn’t even look up. He said coldly, “Now? You think I have time to check on her gift? Just hold onto it.”

Martin and Tara didn’t care either. They were too busy fussing over Ursa. “You poor thing. Come on, sweetie, let’s get you home.”

Florence laughed. It stung her throat. Her eyes burned.

But it was okay. One day, they’d realize what their gift was.

She turned away, walked to the road, and flagged down a cab.

“To the airport, please.”

The door shut. The engine rumbled to life.

In the rearview mirror, she saw Baldwin had shifted back into his wolf form, carrying Ursa on his back. Martin and Tara followed close behind. None of them looked back.

Florence turned her gaze to the passing scenery outside the window, then slowly closed her

eyes.
