My Fiancé Kiss His Fake Fated Mate Chapter 04

My Fiancé Kiss His Fake Fated Mate Chapter 04

Yep. He hit the ground.

Good thing we were in a hospital. Wasn’t my job to take

care of him this time.

“Hey! Wait!”

I kept walking.

A nurse jogged in front of me. “Weren’t you with him? You can’t just leave!”

I waved her off. “He’s friends with Dr. Holland. Go find

him.”

She blocked my path. “Someone needs to sign the emergency intake forms.”

I sighed and gave in. “Fine. I’ll sign. But I’m not staying.”

After the paperwork, they wheeled Parker into a private

room. I collapsed onto the couch, exhausted.

Mrs. Hayes and Dr. Holland arrived soon after. She looked

composed, but her eyes were bloodshot.

To my surprise, she approached me first.

“Miss. Hayes. May I speak with you?”

Dr. Holland tried to intervene, but one look from her shut him down. Her eyes were pleading. “Please, dear.”

I glanced at Parker’s unconscious form on the bed. His family was once the thing I fought hardest to belong to.

I shook my head. “There’s nothing left to say.”

She didn’t force it. But when I left the hospital, she

followed me out.

“Five minutes,” she begged. “Please.”

Her usually immaculate hair was a mess. I sighed and nodded.

In the café, she ordered two black coffees and sat across from me in silence. I waited, watching rain streak the windows.

Finally, she spoke. “Chloe’s mother and I are old friends.”

I kept my eyes on the glass. “And?”

“I’ve treated Chloe like my own since the day she was born. I always knew she loved Parker. I wanted them together.”

She paused. Then she looked up. “The way I treated you. I owe you an apology.”

I blinked, startled.

“I didn’t know Chloe was lying about being terminally ill.”

Bitterness crept into her voice. “She’s sick, yes. But she’s not dying.”

“I was deceived,” she whispered. “And I pushed Parker…”

Tears brimmed in her eyes. “If I hadn’t pressured him, he never would have done any of this.”

She steadied herself and leaned forward. “I know this is selfish. But Miss Hayes… can you forgive him?”

The woman who once mocked me. Who said I wasn’t good enough for their noble pack bloodline. Now she was practically on her knees, begging.

I only had one answer.

“Mrs. Hayes. I can’t forgive Parker.”

“You say you pushed him. But look at him with Chloe. Can you honestly tell me he feels nothing for her?”

She opened her mouth. Closed it. No denial.

At last, she pulled out a checkbook. “This is for your medical expenses. I’ve arranged the best specialists.”

I took the card without hesitation. Money doesn’t lie. Love

does.

“I never liked you,” I said calmly. “You thought I was a gold digger. A feral lone wolf with no breeding.”

“But money’s honest. People aren’t.”
