High Paying Bounty for My Secret Husband’s One Night Stand? I Queted Chapter 07

High Paying Bounty for My Secret Husband’s One Night Stand? I Queted Chapter 07

My heart skipped a beat. Before I could reply, Jessica posted again.

[I don’t get it! He must have thrown me out because he has a woman in there! I swear I heard

a female voice!]

I froze.

A woman’s voice? In Alexander’s room? Who else could be in there besides him?

[If you come, I’ll have my secretary pick you up.]

Alexander followed up immediately.

I stared at the screen, and that long-suppressed possessiveness inside me finally ignited.

[Is the source reliable?]

Jessica said hysterically, “Absolutely! When he shoved me out, I heard a soft laugh from

inside. Definitely a woman!”

The chat erupted.

[Oh my god, is Harrington really hiding a woman in there?]

[The interpreter! It has to be the interpreter! I knew it was weird when he suddenly changed

interpreters!]

I read the speculation and felt like a tangled knot had lodged itself in

my

chest.

A woman in Alexander’s room?

No way. With his level of cleanliness, he wouldn’t even let the maid in without gloves unless

he was there.

But Jessica sounded so sure, like she wasn’t lying.

I grabbed my purse and made a beeline for the hotel lobby.

“Ms. Blackwood, your room is on the 27th floor,” the front desk clerk reminded me politely.

“Not necessary. I’m going to 2801.”

I clicked up the elevator in my high heels, walking like a woman on a mission.

In the mirror, I looked at myself.

Olivia, calm down. This is just a marriage of convenience. You each live your own life.

But another voice in my head was screaming: Even if it’s just convenient, he’s still my

husband!

On the 28th floor, Daniel was indeed stationed there.

When he saw me, he blinked, then nodded respectfully. “Ms. Blackwood.”

To the outside world, I was still Ms. Blackwood. Not Mrs. Harrington.

“Is he inside?” I asked coolly.

“Mr. Harrington is waiting for you.”

Daniel swiped the keycard for me.

I pushed the door open. A wave of cold cedar and vetiver hit me, Alexander’s signature

cologne.

The room was dim. The sound of running water came from the bathroom.

No woman’s voice.

I sat on the couch and flipped open my phone.

In the socialite chat, Jessica was still stirring the pot.

[Ladies, I just bribed a hotel employee. He said a woman did go into 2801. Pretty, dressed like

a damn vixen.]

I glanced down at my fitted black blazer dress. Vixen? That was a new one.

[Ladies, I’m offering fifty grand. Whoever gets me a clear photo of that woman’s face gets another fifty grand on top.]

Jessica was betting the farm.

I stared at the words “fifty grand” and suddenly found it amusing.

Since you want to see so badly, I’ll be generous.

I turned and took a photo of the ocean view from the Crown Suite’s floor-to-ceiling window.

In the corner of the photo, Alexander’s dark gray shirt and the Harrington Group folder on the

table were unintentionally visible.

I posted the photo in the chat.

[Don’t bother waiting. The woman is right here.]
