High Paying Bounty for My Secret Husband’s One Night Stand? I Queted Chapter 06

I ignored him and switched back to the chat.

Jessica sent a voice memo, her voice hushed with barely contained excitement.

“Ladies, I’m up here! The bodyguard stepped away to take a call, so I snuck past him! I’m right

outside 2801!”

The chat was flooding.

[Oh my god, my heart is going to explode!]

[Get in there! Just go for it!]

I stared at the elevator bank, counting down in my head: three, two, one…

A dull thud echoed from the 28th floor. I couldn’t hear it from across the street, but the chat

had already gone nuclear.

[What happened? Jessica, where are you?]

[Talk to us! Did you get in?]

Five minutes later, Jessica posted a photo.

She was sitting on the hallway carpet, her white dress wrinkled beyond recognition, her hair a

mess, her eyes wide with terror.

“He… he threw me out.”

Jessica’s voice memo was tearful.

“I knocked. He opened the door wearing just a towel. I didn’t even get a word out before he

said ‘Get out’ and just pushed me into the hall.”

The chat went dead silent.

I stared at the screen and couldn’t help laughing.

Alexander’s temper hadn’t changed one bit.

[Jessica, didn’t you tell him who you were?] someone asked timidly.

“I did! I said I was the daughter of Whitmore Real Estate and wanted to discuss the Coastline

Parcel with him. He said… he said ‘Whitmore? Never heard of it.”

Jessica was clearly crushed.

I stopped smiling and tapped my fingers lightly on the table.

Alexander was cold, sure, but he was usually polite to business associates, unless he was

genuinely pissed off.

I opened his chat and saw he had sent me a photo.

One of Jessica’s high heels, left by his door.

[Did you send her to test me?]

His tone carried a pressure I could feel even through the screen.

I replied: [I don’t have that kind of free time. There’s a socialite chat with a bounty on your room number. I just pocketed some easy cash.]

This time, he was typing for a while.

Finally, he sent a voice memo. His voice was low and magnetic, laced with a subtle danger.

“Olivia, making money off of me comes at a price.”
