The Donna’s Lethal Goodbye Chapter 06

The Donna’s Lethal Goodbye Chapter 06

In the end, it was just a few arrogant text messages that crushed everything to dust.

In that split second, everything snapped into place for Cassius. He finally understood: Evelyn hadn’t been kidnapped by a rival cartel, nor had she simply vanished into thin air without warning. She had been forced out. And the mastermind pulling the strings behind the scenes was none other than Selena.

That night, the air inside the Moretti estate was thick enough to choke on, reeked of impending bloodshed.

As Cassius stared dead at the cracked screen of the phone, the rage in his eyes erupted like a volcano. He clenched his jaw furiously, a muscle ticking in his cheek from the sheer force of his repressed madness, and pulled a single name from the depths of his throat.

‘Selena…”

The next second, he violently heaved the massive desk upward, flipping it completely. With a deatening crash, priceless ornaments and top-secret files shattered across the floor. The atmospheric pressure in the room instantly plummeted to sub-zero.

“Drag her down here!” he roared at his trembling enforcers. “Now!”

At that exact moment, Selena was lying in her luxurious suite in the East Wing, basking in the sweet dream of becoming the next Donna. The thunderous crash of her bedroom door being kicked open jolted her violently awake. Several hulking guards in black suits marched in, mercilessly yanking her right out from under the covers.

“Are you crazy?! Let go of me! Selena shrieked in a mix of terror and fury, thrashing wildly. “You mindless dogs! I am carrying the Don s child! If you hurt his heir, how many lives do you think you have to pay for it?!”

No matter how viciously she cursed, the guards didn’t say a word. They hauled her by her hair and arms like a bag of trash, dragging her all the way to the ruined study before slamming her down hard at Cassius’s feet.

Forced to her knees amid the shattered glass, Selena looked up. Meeting Cassius’s eyes, she instantly adopted a pitiful, tear-stained face, deciding to strike first.

“Cassius! Look at how rough they are being!” she sobbed, huge tears rolling down her cheeks. They almost hurt our baby! You have to execute them right now and make an example out of them!”

Cassius completely ignored her performance.

His face was a mask of frost. Without warning, he raised his custom leather shoe and, without blinking, launched a brutal kick squarely

into Selena’s stomach.

“Ah-!” Selena let out a bloodcurdling scream as she was sent flying backward like a kite with a snapped string, crashing violently to the

ruined floor.

Before she could even catch her breath from the tearing agony in her gut, Cassius crossed the room in two strides. He grabbed a fistful of her hair, violently jerking her terrified face up to meet his. Pure, suffocating murder crushed down on her like dead weight.

“Who the fuck gave you the nerve to send all those photos, videos, and texts to Evelyn?!”

Selena clutched her fiercely cramping stomach, trembling uncontrollably. But the physical agony paled in comparison to her terror of the completely unhinged man before her.

She knew better than anyone how monstrous he was when he lost control. If she confessed, she was a dead woman.

‘I didn t…” she choked out, fighting through the terror to grasp at lies. I don’t know what you’re talking about! I just wanted to be by your side! I never wanted to fight Evelyn for her place… She must have misunderstood! Or somebody hacked my phone to frame me!

His response was the cracked phone, smashed directly into her face.

The screen lit up vividly, displaying her text history with Evelyn with glaring clarity. Cassius stared dead at her, reciting her taunts aloud word by word, as if reading her death warrant:

“If you know what’s good for you, pack up and leave the Moretti estate.

Hearing the undeniable, damning proof, all color instantly drained from Selena’s face. Absolute despair flooded her wide eyes. In that single moment, every arrogant, beautiful delusion of taking the throne was ground into dust.

Cassius released his grip, stepping back with sheer disgust, as if he had just tossed away a piece of plague-ridden trash.

“Throw her in the basement, he commanded coldly. ‘No food, no water. She doesn’t get a single drop until Evelyn walks back through my

doors.

Selena completely broke.

“No! Cassius, please!” she wailed, scrambling on her hands and knees to clutch at his leg. ‘I am carrying your own flesh and blood! Even if you are mad at me, you can’t do this to your child!”

Cassius effortlessly kicked her hands away. He looked down at her from above, his eyes swirling with pure, cold-blooded tyranny.

“Listen closely.” His voice was colder than a grave. “If I can’t find Evelyn, this little bastard inside you doesn’t get to live, either.”
